CHADWICK M501 12V Wireless Immobilizer Car Engine Lock Anti-Theft System

Model: M501

1. Product Overview

The CHADWICK M501 is an intelligent 12V wireless immobilizer car engine lock designed to enhance vehicle security. This anti-theft system features a unique replaceable relay-shaped design, allowing for hidden and non-destructive installation. It operates with smart sensing technology, requiring no manual operation in automatic mode, and provides robust protection against unauthorized vehicle starts.

The system is designed to be disguised as an original car relay, making it difficult for thieves to detect. It is suitable for 12V gasoline vehicles only and primarily controls the oil circuit to prevent engine ignition. It does not control door switches, flashing lights, windows, speakers, or mobile phone functions.

The unit-relay shape is divided into 4-pin and 5-pin types. It is crucial to check the shape of your original relay before installation to ensure compatibility.

  • Model A: Internal circuit: 30→87, 85→86. Working voltage: 12V. Working current: 30A.
  • Model B: Internal circuit: 30→87, 85→86. Working voltage: 12V. Working current: 40A.
  • Model C: Internal circuit: 30→87, 85→86. Working voltage: 12V. Working current: 40A.

4. Setup and Installation

Different vehicles have varying relay shapes, and the appropriate model (A or B) must be used. The default model is A if Model B is unavailable.

  1. Locate the Relay/Fuse Box: Generally found on the left or right side of the engine compartment.
  2. Open the Fuse Box Cover: Identify the function or type of the relay and fuse, which is usually printed on the cover. Note the direction of the relay.
  3. Unplug the Original Vehicle Oil Pump Relay: To confirm you have the correct relay, start the engine after unplugging it. If the engine cannot start or stop, this confirms it is the correct replaceable relay.
Installation Steps 1-3
Figure 8: Installation demonstration showing steps 1-3: finding the fuse box, opening the cover, and unplugging the original oil pump relay.
  1. Confirm Relay Shape: Ensure the shape of the new relay (Model A or B) matches the original.
  2. Plug in the New Relay Host: Pay attention to consistency in shape and plug it in firmly. Keep the original car relay for backup.
  3. Test After Installation: After installation, turn off the ignition, close the windows, doors, and lock the car. Take all remote controls (including the original car remote) to a distance of 20 meters. Place the new immobilizer's remote on the ground. Return to the car and attempt to start the engine. If the engine cannot start or stops within 25 seconds, the installation is successful.
Installation Steps 4-6
Figure 9: Installation demonstration showing steps 4-6: confirming relay shape, plugging in the new relay, and testing the system.

Important Installation Notes:

  • The unit relay replaces the original vehicle relay without breaking the wire. It only supplies power to drive the internal coil control switch on and off when the vehicle is ignited, which will not affect other functions of the original vehicle.
  • The unit supports the start and stop function of the original car, but the automatic induction mode must be turned on.
  • This product only controls the oil circuit or circuit. It does NOT control the doors, direction lights, or other parts of the vehicle. The engine cannot be started to prevent theft.

5. Operating Instructions

Working Principle of the Unit-Relay:

  1. First Start: The unit scans for the sensor ID password. If a match is found within 25 seconds, the car can be driven. If not, the fuel circuit is cut off after 25 seconds, and the engine stops.
  2. Second Start: The scanning time is shortened to 20 seconds.
  3. Third Start: The scanning time is shortened to 10 seconds.
  4. Fourth Start: If the unit cannot scan the correct password (e.g., if started illegally), the engine will not start. The unit must sense the correct password before driving.
  5. Hidden-Lock Mode: In this mode, the system no longer scans the sensor ID. The sensor needs to be sensed again only after turning off the engine.
  6. Anti-Hijacking Mode: The unit starts normally upon receiving the correct signal after engine start. If the remote control signal is not received within 1 minute, the engine will turn off. The system will continue to receive signals while driving.

Remote Control Operation:

  • Accidental Disarm: Press the remote control button once to start. To enter this mode, long press the remote control button for 3 seconds until the red light is continuously on for 3 seconds.
  • Auto Disarm: The red light flashes 3 times quickly. To enter this mode, long press the remote control button for 3 seconds until the red light flashes 3 times quickly. The remote control will send a signal to the host, which will disarm and stop transmitting after 1 minute without vibration.
  • Anti-Hijacking Mode: In automatic mode, long press the remote control button for 3 seconds. Both the red and blue lights will flash 3 times simultaneously. The unit will receive an anti-hijacking signal from the remote controller within approximately 15 meters.

6. Maintenance

  • Remote Control Battery Replacement: The remote control uses a CR2032 battery. When the red light flashes every 3 seconds, it indicates low battery voltage, and the battery must be replaced as soon as possible.
  • Original Relay Retention: Always keep the original car relay for backup purposes.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Engine does not start/stop after installation test: Recheck all installation steps, especially relay shape confirmation and proper insertion.
  • Fault light illuminates during unit test: This is normal for some models during the unit test function. In automatic induction mode, it should automatically clear after a few days of normal driving.
  • Relay continues to supply power for more than ten seconds after turning off: This is normal for some models and does not affect use.
  • Host cannot receive signal from remote control: If the host continuously restarts because it cannot receive the remote control signal, ensure the remote control battery is not low and there are no obstructions.
  • Engine cannot be started: This is a security feature. The engine cannot be started if the correct sensor ID password is not detected by the unit-relay.

8. User Tips

  • Diesel Car Compatibility: This device is ONLY suitable for 12V gasoline vehicles. It will NOT work with diesel cars.
  • Relay Model Check: Before purchasing or installing, always check the model and pin configuration of your original car's relay to ensure compatibility with Model A or Model B of the CHADWICK M501.
  • Original Relay Identification: When identifying the oil pump relay, some models may not have a dedicated fuel pump relay. Ensure that unplugging the identified relay prevents the engine from starting normally.

9. Warranty and Support

Warranty Information:

  • The warranty remains valid for one year from the purchasing date.
  • Within the warranty period, manufacturing defects will be repaired free of charge.
  • Damages caused by misuse or unauthorized repair of this device are not covered under warranty.
  • Repairs for non-warranty issues may be subject to a justified cost.
