4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your PQWT S-Series Ground Water Detector for operation:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the carrying case. Ensure all components listed in Section 2 are present and undamaged.
  2. Charge the Device: Before first use, fully charge the main detector unit using the provided power adapter. Connect the adapter to the charging port on the unit and plug it into a power outlet. The LED indicator will show charging status.
  3. Connect Electrode Cable: Connect the electrode cable to the "M N port" on the main detector unit. Ensure the connection is secure.
  4. Attach Electrode Rods: Connect the two copper electrode rods to the ends of the electrode cable.
  5. Power On: Press the "ON/OFF" button on the main unit to power on the device. The LCD touch screen should illuminate.
  6. Placement of Electrodes: In your survey area, firmly insert the two electrode rods into the ground at appropriate distances as per your survey plan. Ensure good contact with the soil.

5. Operating Instructions

The PQWT S-Series detector features an intuitive touch screen interface for easy operation. After powering on and connecting the electrodes, navigate the menu to begin your survey.

5.1 Main Menu Overview

The main screen provides access to different survey modes and settings:

  • Single Frequency: For basic measurements at a single frequency.

5.2 Conducting a Survey (Profile Survey Example)

  1. From the main menu, tap on "Profile Survey".
  2. Enter the required parameters such as Line number, Depth, and Gain. The device supports various depths (e.g., 170Hz, 67Hz, 25Hz).
  3. Confirm your settings and start the measurement.
  4. The device will automatically collect data and generate a geological profile map on the screen, reflecting aquifers and their depths.

The automatic mapping feature provides on-site results, allowing for immediate analysis of the underground structure.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your PQWT S-Series Ground Water Detector, follow these maintenance guidelines:

Cannot save data to USB flash drive
  • USB flash drive is full or corrupted. Try a different USB drive.
  • USB flash drive not properly inserted. Ensure it is fully seated in the USB port.

  • Ground Contact is Key: Always ensure the electrode rods have excellent contact with the ground. Moist soil provides better conductivity and more accurate readings. If the ground is very dry, consider moistening the area around the electrodes.
