4. Setup and Installation
The TTlock Smart Door Lock is designed for easy installation on various door types, including steel, wooden, brass, and stainless steel doors. It is compatible with multiple mortise sizes. Ensure you select the correct mortise for your door.
4.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Verify door thickness and mortise compatibility.
- Ensure you have the necessary tools (screwdriver, drill, measuring tape, etc.).
- Confirm the handle direction (reversible for left or right-handed doors).
4.2 Mechanical Installation
- Prepare the Door: If replacing an existing lock, remove it. If installing on a new door, drill holes according to the provided template (not included in this manual, refer to packaging for template).
- Install the Mortise: Insert the chosen mortise into the door edge and secure it with screws.
- Install Front Panel: Attach the front panel of the lock to the door, ensuring the spindle and wiring pass through the correct holes.
- Install Rear Panel: Connect the wiring from the front panel to the rear panel. Attach the rear panel to the door and secure it with screws.
- Test Handle and Latch: Ensure the handle operates smoothly and the latch retracts and extends correctly.
4.3 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the rear panel.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert 8 AA dry batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery cover securely.

4.4 Initial App Setup (TTlock App)
- Download the "TTlock" app from your smartphone's app store.
- Create an account and log in.
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
- In the TTlock app, tap "Add Lock" and select "Door Lock".
- Touch the lock's keypad to activate it. The app should detect the lock.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your lock with the app and set up the administrator password.
5. Operating Instructions
Your TTlock Smart Door Lock offers multiple convenient ways to unlock your door.
5.1 Unlocking with Fingerprint
- Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor.
- The lock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized.

5.2 Unlocking with Pass Code
- Touch the keypad to activate it.
- Enter your registered pass code followed by '#'.
- The lock will unlock if the pass code is correct.
5.3 Unlocking with M1 Card
- Place your registered M1 card on the card swiping area.
- The lock will unlock if the card is recognized.
5.4 Unlocking with TTlock App (Bluetooth)
- Open the TTlock app on your smartphone.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and you are within range of the lock.
- Tap the unlock icon in the app.
- The lock will unlock.

5.5 Unlocking with Mechanical Key (Emergency)
- Insert the mechanical key into the keyhole.
- Turn the key to unlock the door.

5.6 Locking the Door
The lock will automatically lock after a set period (configurable in the app) or can be manually locked from the inside by lifting the handle or pressing the lock button.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
When the battery level is low, the lock will provide an audible or visual alert. Replace all 8 AA dry batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Refer to Section 4.3 for battery installation steps.
6.2 Cleaning
Wipe the lock's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components. The lock features special waterproof coatings for durability against weather elements.

6.3 General Care
- Avoid exposing the lock to extreme temperatures beyond its operating range (-15℃ to 70℃).
- Do not attempt to disassemble the lock unless specifically instructed by support.
- Ensure the door frame and strike plate are properly aligned to prevent undue stress on the lock mechanism.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Lock Not Responding
- Check battery level. Replace batteries if low.
- If batteries are completely dead, use the mechanical key or connect a power bank to the USB external power supply interface (Figure 8).
- Ensure the lock is properly installed and all connections are secure.
7.2 Fingerprint Not Recognized
- Ensure your finger is clean and dry.
- Try placing your finger on the sensor at a slightly different angle.
- If the issue persists, re-register your fingerprint in the TTlock app.
7.3 App Connectivity Issues
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and you are within close range of the lock.
- Restart the TTlock app.
- Restart your smartphone's Bluetooth.
- If necessary, unpair and re-pair the lock in the TTlock app.
7.4 Pass Code Not Working
- Ensure you are entering the correct pass code.
- Check if the pass code has expired (for temporary codes).
- Verify the pass code in the TTlock app.
8. User Tips
- Regular Battery Checks: Although the lock has a long battery life, it's good practice to check battery status in the app periodically, especially before extended absences.
- Multiple Access Methods: Always keep a mechanical key in a safe, accessible location as a backup for emergencies.
- App Updates: Keep your TTlock app updated to the latest version for optimal performance and access to new features and security enhancements.
- Temporary Access: Utilize the app's feature to generate temporary pass codes or eKeys for guests or service providers, enhancing convenience and security without sharing your primary access credentials.
- Outdoor Durability: While waterproof, occasional cleaning of the exterior can help maintain its appearance and functionality over time, especially in harsh weather conditions.
