1. Introduction

The EDECOA ED-BW WIFI Box is designed to provide remote monitoring and control capabilities for compatible EDECOA hybrid solar inverters. This module enables users to access real-time data, historical records, and adjust inverter parameters through a dedicated mobile application, enhancing the management of your solar power system.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installing or operating the WIFI Box. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Ensure all power to the inverter is disconnected before connecting the WIFI Box.
  • Do not expose the device to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Keep the device away from flammable materials.

The EDECOA ED-BW WIFI Box is a compact device designed for seamless integration with your solar inverter. It features indicator lights for status and a LAN port for connection.

5. Setup

5.1 Inverter Connection

Connect the EDECOA ED-BW WIFI Box to your compatible hybrid solar inverter using the provided Ethernet cable. Ensure the connection is secure.

5.2 Mobile Application Installation

To monitor and control your inverter, you will need to install the dedicated EDECOA mobile application on your smartphone.

  • The application is currently available for Android devices.
  • An iOS version is under development.
  • Ensure your phone's network and the WIFI Box's network are on the same Local Area Network (LAN) for proper communication.

6. Operating Instructions

The mobile application provides a comprehensive interface for managing your solar inverter.

6.1 Real-time Data Monitoring

View live operational data from your inverter, including output information, battery status, PV input, AC input, and overall system status. Data refreshes every 5 seconds.

6.2 Historical Data Records

The application automatically generates graphs and records historical data, allowing you to track performance trends over time.

6.3 Parameter Settings

Adjust over 30 different parameters of your inverter directly from the app. This includes settings for AC output voltage, frequency, charging current, battery cut-off voltage, and more.

Important Note: When the WIFI Box is connected to the inverter, ensure that item 05 in the program is NOT set to 'Lib'.

6.4 Monitoring Multiple Devices

The application allows you to connect and monitor multiple EDECOA inverters simultaneously, providing a centralized management solution.

6.5 Language Settings

The mobile application supports multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Spanish, German, Italian, and French.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Connectivity Issues

  • Cannot connect to the WIFI Box: Ensure your smartphone and the WIFI Box are connected to the same Local Area Network (LAN). Check your router settings.
  • No data displayed in the app: Verify the Ethernet cable connection between the WIFI Box and the inverter. Ensure the inverter is powered on and functioning correctly.

8.2 Indicator Lights

  • Power Indicator behavior: The top power indicator should remain steadily lit when the device is powered on and functioning correctly. A blinking green light upon startup is normal, but it should stabilize.

8.3 App Related Issues

  • Which program to use: Use the dedicated EDECOA mobile application. Search for "EDECOA" in the Google Play Store for Android devices.
  • App not installing/crashing: Ensure your Android device meets the minimum system requirements. Try clearing the app cache or reinstalling the application.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure a stable and strong WiFi signal in the area where the WIFI Box is installed.
  • Regularly check for app updates to benefit from new features and improvements. The device supports OTA remote upgrades.
  • When configuring inverter parameters via the app, always double-check your settings before saving to avoid unintended operation.
  • Remember that the mobile application is currently only available for Android devices.

10. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the WIFI Box. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates: The device supports Over-The-Air (OTA) remote upgrades. Ensure your device is connected to the internet and check the mobile application for available firmware updates to keep your WIFI Box running efficiently and securely.
