5. Setup Guide

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the TS5000 device. Connect the provided Type-C cable to the device and the power adapter, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet. The device can also be charged by connecting the Type-C cable to a computer's USB port.

5.2 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button, then select 'Power Off' from the options on the screen.

5.3 VCI Dongle Connection

The VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) dongle is used to connect the TS5000 to the vehicle's OBD-II port for diagnostic functions and certain TPMS relearn procedures. Plug the VCI dongle into the vehicle's OBD-II port, usually located under the dashboard. The TS5000 will communicate with the VCI dongle wirelessly via Bluetooth.

5.4 Wi-Fi Connection

To enable software updates and online features, connect the TS5000 to a Wi-Fi network:

  1. From the main menu, navigate to 'Settings'.
  2. Select 'Wi-Fi' and turn it on.
  3. Choose your desired network from the list and enter the password if prompted.

The TS5000 supports programming FOXWELL T10 sensors using four methods:

  • Manual Create: Manually input the OE sensor ID.
  • Clone by Activation: Clone an existing sensor's ID by activating it.
  • Automatic Create: Generate a new, unique sensor ID.
  • Clone by OBD: Read the sensor IDs from the vehicle's ECU via the OBD-II port and program them to new sensors.

6.1.3 TPMS Relearn Procedures

The TS5000 supports three types of sensor relearn procedures, which vary based on the specific vehicle model:

  • OBD Relearn: The sensor IDs are written directly to the vehicle's ECU via the OBD-II port.
  • Automatic Relearn: The vehicle learns new sensor IDs automatically by driving under specific conditions.
  • Stationary Relearn: Requires the vehicle to be in a stationary relearn mode, often involving specific steps like inflating/deflating tires.

6.1.4 TPMS System Diagnostics

  • Restart the device and attempt the update again.
