4. Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and security of your access controller. Please follow the diagrams carefully.
4.1 System Overview
The access control system typically consists of the metal access control machine, a power supply, a magnetic lock (e.g., 180kg), a doorbell, and an exit button.

4.2 Wiring Diagram
Connect the access controller to the power supply, lock, doorbell, and exit switch according to the following diagram. Ensure all connections are secure and correct to prevent damage to the device or system malfunction.

5. Initial Setup and Tuya App Integration
The access controller integrates with the Tuya App for smart management. Follow these steps to set up the device and connect it to your smartphone.
5.1 Tuya App Bluetooth Settings
- Download the Tuya App: Scan the QR code provided in the product packaging or search for "Tuya Smart" (or "Doodle App" as mentioned in some instructions) in your app store to download and install the application.
- Register and Log In: Open the Tuya Smart App. If you are a new user, register for an account. Existing users can log in.
- Add Equipment:
- After entering the home page, click the "+" icon on the top right corner.
- Select "Add Device" or "Add Manually" and choose the appropriate device type (e.g., "Security & Video Surveillance" -> "Door Lock (Bluetooth)").
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. The app will automatically search for nearby devices.
- Once your access controller is discovered, select it and follow the on-screen prompts to add it.
- Confirm the device has been added successfully.

5.2 Adding Administrator Credentials (via App)
After successfully adding the device to the Tuya App, you can add administrator fingerprints, passwords, and RFID cards.
- Navigate to the device's management interface in the Tuya App.
- Select "User Management" or similar option.
- To add an administrator fingerprint: Follow the app's instructions to place your finger on the fingerprint recognition area of the lock multiple times until successfully registered.
- To add an administrator password: Enter a desired password (e.g., 6-8 digits) twice on the device keypad when prompted by the app.
- To add an administrator card: Present the RFID card to the device's card reader when prompted by the app.

6. Operation
6.1 Unlocking Methods
The access controller supports multiple secure unlocking methods:
- Fingerprint: Place your registered finger on the semiconductor fingerprint sensor for quick recognition.
- RFID Card: Swipe your registered RFID card over the card reader area.
- Password: Enter your registered password on the touch screen keypad.
- Tuya App: Use the Tuya App on your smartphone for remote unlocking.
- Dual Verification: For enhanced security, the system supports dual verification methods (e.g., fingerprint + password).



6.2 Normal Open Mode
For frequent entry and exit, you can set the device to "Normally Open" mode. Any user can enter "g" and "#" within 3 seconds after unlocking the lock to activate this mode. The regular open indicator will turn purple. To exit the normal open state, repeat the same procedure.

6.3 Temporary Unlocking Setting (via App)
From the Tuya App home page, click "Temporary" at the bottom to access the "Add temporary lock" page. Here, you can set a time limit for temporary access or grant single-use unlocking permissions.
6.4 Keypad Navigation (J300X Model)
For the J300X model with a display, menu navigation is as follows:

- 2 Key: Scroll Up (long press for quick scroll)
- 0 Key: Scroll Down (long press for quick scroll)

The J300X model supports multiple display languages including Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Romanian, and Italian. Time and date are shown on the display when in standby.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the surface or electronic components.
- Waterproof Rating: The device has an IP65/IP67 waterproof rating, making it suitable for outdoor installation. However, avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion in water.
- Fingerprint Sensor: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance.
- Power Supply: Ensure a stable DC 12V power supply to prevent operational issues.


8. Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Check the DC 12V power supply connection and ensure it is providing adequate power.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint if the issue persists. Make sure you are placing your finger correctly on the sensor.
- RFID card not working: Ensure the card is correctly registered. Try presenting the card closer to the reader.
- Password not accepted: Verify that you are entering the correct password. Ensure the keypad is clean and responsive.
- Tuya App connectivity issues: Check your phone's Bluetooth connection. Ensure the device is within Bluetooth range. Restart the app and the access controller if necessary.
- Door not unlocking: Verify that the lock mechanism is functioning correctly and is properly connected to the access controller. Check the wiring according to the diagrams in Section 4.
- Display (J300X) is blank or unresponsive: Check power supply. If the issue persists, contact support.
