4. Setup
4.1. Charging the Device
The Huepar AG2L is equipped with a 650mAh lithium battery. Before first use, or when the low battery indicator appears, charge the device using the provided Type-C charging cable.
- Connect the Type-C charging cable to the charging port on the side of the device.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
- The device will indicate charging status on its display. A full charge can provide up to 14 hours of use (4 hours with both laser lines and angle measurement active).
4.2. Initial Placement
The device features strong magnets on its bottom and back sides, along with a V-groove design on the bottom. This allows for secure attachment to ferromagnetic surfaces and cylindrical objects like pipes.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off
- To turn ON the device, short press the Power/Date Hold button (11).
- To turn OFF the device, long press the Power/Date Hold button (11).
5.2. Measurement Modes (Absolute and Relative)
The AG2L offers two measurement modes:
- Absolute Measurement (ABS): Measures the true angle relative to the horizontal plane.
- Relative Measurement (REF): Measures the angle relative to a user-defined zero point.
To switch between modes or set a relative zero:
- Turn on the device.
- Place the device on the surface you wish to set as the relative zero.
- Short press the 0-90°/0-180° Range Switch & ZERO Function button (13) to set the current position as 0.00° for relative measurement. The 'Zero Indicator' (3) will appear.
- Press the button again to return to absolute measurement.
5.3. Laser Line Modes
The device features three laser line modes:
- Horizontal Line: Projects a horizontal laser line.
- Vertical Line: Projects a vertical laser line.
- Cross Line: Projects both horizontal and vertical laser lines simultaneously.
To activate or change laser modes:
- Short press the Laser ON/OFF button (14) to cycle through the laser modes (Horizontal, Vertical, Cross-Line, Off).
5.4. Unit Conversion
The AG2L supports four units of measurement:
- Degrees (°)
- Percentage (%)
- mm/m
- IN/FT (Fraction)
To change the unit of measurement, short press the Mode Setting Unit & Audible Buzzer ON/OFF button (12) to cycle through the available units.
5.5. Buzzer Function
The audible buzzer (9) will alert you when the device is within ±1° of the horizontal (0°) or vertical (90°) position. To toggle the buzzer ON/OFF, long press the Mode Setting Unit & Audible Buzzer ON/OFF button (12).
5.6. Data Hold
To hold the current measurement on the display, short press the Power/Date Hold button (11) during measurement. The 'Data Hold' indicator (2) will appear. Press the button again to release the hold and resume live measurement.
5.7. User Calibration
It is crucial to perform calibration on a flat and smooth surface. If the surface exceeds 5° of deviation, the display will show "Err", indicating that calibration cannot proceed. During calibration, the device must not be beveled or moved. After successful calibration, the device's original factory data will be replaced with your calibrated data, so use this function carefully.
- With the AG2L turned OFF, press and hold both the Power/Date Hold button (11) and the Laser ON/OFF button (14) simultaneously to enter calibration mode. The display will show "CAL 1".
- Short press the Laser ON/OFF button (14). "CAL 1" will blink.
- The display will then change to "CAL 2".
- Carefully flip the level over so that the bottom surface is now facing upwards, resting on the same flat surface.
- Short press the Laser ON/OFF button (14) again. "CAL 2" will blink, then change to the active angle display.
- The zero reference for the display has now been recalibrated to the level surface.
6. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and dry. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Store the device in its cloth bag when not in use to protect it from dust and scratches.
- The device is IP54 waterproof and dustproof, but avoid submerging it in water.
- Regularly check the battery level and recharge as needed to maintain battery health.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display shows "Err" during calibration | Calibration surface is not flat or exceeds 5° deviation. | Ensure the device is placed on a perfectly flat and smooth surface for calibration. |
| Inaccurate angle readings | Device needs calibration; magnetic interference. | Perform user calibration as described in Section 5.7. Ensure no strong magnetic fields are nearby during measurement. |
| Laser lines are dim or not visible | Low battery; bright ambient light. | Recharge the device. Use the device in lower light conditions or closer to the target surface. |
| Device does not turn on | Battery is depleted. | Charge the device fully using the Type-C cable. |
| Buzzer not working | Buzzer function is turned off. | Long press the Unit button to toggle the buzzer ON. |
8. User Tips
- For critical measurements, always perform a quick calibration check to ensure accuracy.
