2. Safety Information

  • Always ensure the appliance to be plugged in uses fewer watts than the transformer's rating. For safety, it is recommended that the transformer's maximum wattage is at least 50% higher than your appliance's wattage.
  • For appliances with motors (e.g., refrigerators, air conditioners, coffee makers, blenders), the starting wattage can be 2-7 times higher than the listed wattage. Choose a transformer with a significantly higher VA rating for such devices.
  • Place the transformer in a well-ventilated area. Do not block the cooling vents.
  • Do not expose the transformer to moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • Always turn off the transformer and unplug it from the mains before cleaning or performing any maintenance.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your LVYUAN Voltage Converter Transformer:

  1. Select the Correct Input Voltage: Locate the AC Input Selector switch on the rear panel of the transformer. Before plugging the unit into the wall, ensure this switch is set to match the voltage of your wall outlet (e.g., 110V for North America, 220V for Europe).

  2. Plug into the Mains: Connect the transformer's power cord into a grounded wall outlet that matches the selected input voltage.
  3. Turn On the Transformer: Flip the Power Switch on the front panel to the 'ON' position. The Power Lamp should illuminate, indicating the unit is receiving power.
  4. Plug in Your Appliance: Connect your appliance's power cord into the appropriate output socket on the transformer (e.g., 110V output for a 110V appliance, 220V/230V output for a 220V/230V appliance).

5. Operating Instructions

Your LVYUAN transformer can convert voltage in two directions:

5.1. Step-Up Conversion (e.g., 110V to 220V/230V)

To use a 220V/230V appliance in a 110V/120V region:

  1. Ensure the AC Input Selector on the rear is set to 110V.
  2. Plug the transformer into a 110V/120V wall outlet.
  3. Turn on the transformer.
  4. Plug your 220V/230V appliance into one of the 220V/230V output sockets on the front panel.

5.2. Step-Down Conversion (e.g., 220V/230V to 110V)

To use a 110V/120V appliance in a 220V/230V region:

  1. Ensure the AC Input Selector on the rear is set to 220V.
  2. Plug the transformer into a 220V/230V wall outlet.
  3. Turn on the transformer.
  4. Plug your 110V/120V appliance into one of the 110V/120V output sockets on the front panel.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the transformer clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power (Power Lamp Off):
    • Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the transformer and the wall outlet.
    • Ensure the wall outlet is functioning.
    • Verify the AC Input Selector switch is set to the correct voltage for your wall outlet.
    • Check the circuit breaker/fuse on the rear panel. If tripped, reset it. If the fuse is blown, replace it with one of the same rating.
  • Appliance Not Working:
    • Confirm the appliance is plugged into the correct output socket (110V or 220V/230V).
    • Ensure the appliance's wattage does not exceed the transformer's capacity.
    • Check the appliance's own power switch and connections.
  • Overheating:
    • Unplug the transformer and the appliance immediately.
    • Check for blocked cooling vents.
    • Ensure the appliance's wattage is within the transformer's safe operating limits. Allow the unit to cool down before re-using.
