2. Safety Information

  • Ensure the total power rating of connected devices does not exceed 3000W.
  • Do not use in wet environments or near water.
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the device.

5. Setup Guide

5.1 Initial Setup and App Connection

  1. Download the App: Download and install the "Tuya" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (Android 4.1 / iOS 8.0 or above required).
  2. Register/Log In: Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Add Device:
    • Enter the app, tap "+" in the upper right of the page to enter the network connection page.
    • Select "Electrical" then "Socket (Wi-Fi)".
    • Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz networks are not supported.
    • Reset the Device: Press and hold the RESET button on the smart plug for 5 seconds until the indicator light rapidly flashes (2 times per second). This indicates normal mode.
    • Confirm Indicator Status: In the app, confirm that the indicator light is rapidly flashing.
    • Enter Wi-Fi Password: Input your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password.
    • Connect: The app will search for and add the device. Once found, tap "Next".
    • Name the Device: Assign a descriptive name to your smart plug (e.g., "Living Room Lamp").
  4. AP Mode (Alternative Connection): If normal mode fails, you can switch to AP mode.
    • After the indicator light is not rapidly flashing, press the RESET button 5 seconds or Power on/off three times.
    • In the app, select AP Mode on the network connection page.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your phone to the device's Wi-Fi hotspot (usually named "SmartLife-XXXX" or "Tuya-XXXX").
    • Return to the app to complete the connection.

5.2 Voice Control Setup (Alexa/Google Home)

  1. Enable Skill/Action: In your Alexa or Google Home app, search for and enable the "Tuya" or "Smart Life" skill/action.
  2. Link Account: Log in with your Tuya/Smart Life account credentials when prompted.
  3. Discover Devices: Ask Alexa or Google Assistant to "discover devices" or manually initiate device discovery in their respective apps.
  4. Control: Once discovered, you can control your smart plug using voice commands (e.g., "Alexa, turn off the light," "Hey Google, turn off the light").

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Manual Control

The smart plug features a physical power button. Press it once to manually turn the connected appliance ON or OFF.

6.2 App Remote Control

Once connected to the Tuya or Smart Life app, you can remotely control the smart plug from anywhere with an internet connection. Open the app, select your device, and tap the power icon to toggle it ON/OFF.

8. Troubleshooting
