5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Morefine M8S Mini PC:

5.1 Connecting to a Display

  1. Connect one end of the provided HDMI cable to an HDMI port on your monitor or TV.
  2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to one of the HDMI ports on the rear of the Mini PC.
  3. Alternatively, you can use a DisplayPort (DP) cable to connect to a compatible display via the DP 1.4 port.
  4. The Mini PC supports up to three 4K@60Hz displays simultaneously using its HDMI and DP ports.

5.2 Connecting Peripherals

  • Connect your USB keyboard and mouse to the USB 3.0 ports on the front of the Mini PC.
  • For wired network access, connect an Ethernet cable to one of the 1000M RJ45 LAN ports on the rear.
  • For audio output, connect headphones or speakers to the Audio Jack.

5.3 Power Connection

  • Connect the power adapter to the Type-C port on the rear of the Mini PC.
  • Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.

5.4 VESA Mount Installation (Optional)

The Morefine M8S supports VESA back-mounting to simplify your desktop setup.

  1. Attach the VESA bracket to the back of your monitor using the appropriate screws.
  2. Align the Mini PC with the VESA bracket and secure it using the provided screws.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the power button on the front of the Mini PC. The ambient light will illuminate.
  • To Power Off: From the operating system, select 'Shut Down'. Alternatively, press and hold the power button for a few seconds to force a shutdown (not recommended for regular use).

6.2 Operating System

The Morefine M8S Mini PC comes pre-installed with Windows 11. It also supports other operating systems like Linux. Follow the on-screen instructions for initial setup of Windows 11.

6.3 Customizable Face Shells

The Mini PC features a personalized face shell blind box design, allowing for easy disassembly and assembly to change the top cover. This enables customization with different colors or designs to suit your preference.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Regularly clean the exterior of the Mini PC with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Ensure that the ventilation openings are free from dust and debris to maintain optimal cooling. Use compressed air if necessary.

7.2 Software Updates

  • Keep your operating system and drivers updated to ensure system stability and security.
  • Check for Windows updates regularly through the Settings menu.

7.3 Storage Expansion

The Mini PC supports M.2 2242 SATA SSDs and also NVMe/PCIE3.0x2 for storage expansion. To install or upgrade an SSD:

  1. Power off the Mini PC and disconnect all cables.
  2. Carefully remove the top cover of the Mini PC.
  3. Locate the M.2 slot. Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at an angle and gently push down.
  4. Secure the SSD with the provided screw.
  5. Replace the top cover.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and the wall outlet. Try a different outlet.
  • No Display: Check all display cable connections (HDMI/DP). Ensure your monitor is set to the correct input source. Try a different display cable or monitor.
  • No Internet Connection: For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable and router. For Wi-Fi, ensure Wi-Fi is enabled in Windows settings and you are connected to the correct network.
  • Slow Performance: Close unnecessary applications. Check for background processes. Ensure sufficient free storage space.
  • Peripheral Not Detected: Try connecting the peripheral to a different USB port. Ensure drivers are installed if required.
