1. Introduction

The Anysecu Y18 is a versatile 4G Network Radio operating on Android 9.0, designed for robust communication. It functions as a Push-to-Talk (PoC) device, supporting applications like Zello, Real-ptt, walkiefleet, and POCstar, while also offering full mobile phone capabilities including Wi-Fi, GPS, and traditional calls/messages. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Y18 device.

3. Product Overview

The Anysecu Y18 features a compact and durable design, built for reliability in various environments.

3.1 Physical Features

  • Display: 2.4-inch TFT Touch LCD screen.
  • Buttons (Left Side): Large orange Push-to-Talk (PTT) button, smaller orange SOS button, and a covered headphone jack.

5. Initial Setup

5.1 SIM Card Installation

The Y18 uses a Nano SIM card. Locate the SIM card slot cover on the side of the device (refer to Figure 3.1). Carefully open the cover and insert your Nano SIM card into the designated slot. Ensure it is correctly oriented before closing the cover securely.

5.2 Powering On/Off

To power on the device, press and hold the orange Power button located on the right side until the screen illuminates and the boot animation appears. To power off, press and hold the Power button, then select 'Power off' from the on-screen options.

5.3 Initial Android Setup

Upon first power-on or after a factory reset, the device will guide you through the Android setup process. Follow the on-screen prompts to:

  • Select your preferred language.
  • Connect to a Wi-Fi network (recommended for app downloads and updates).
  • Set date and time.
  • Skip or sign in to your Google Account.

5.4 Charging the Device

Connect the provided USB Type-C data cable to the charging port at the bottom of the device and the other end to the USB charger adapter. Plug the adapter into a power outlet. The device will indicate charging status on the screen.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Making Phone Calls

The Y18 supports standard mobile phone calls. Use the 'Phone' application on the device to dial numbers or select contacts. The device supports 2G, 3G, and 4G networks for global calling.

6.2 Push-to-Talk (PoC) Communication

The Y18 is primarily a PoC (Push-to-Talk over Cellular) device. It comes pre-installed or supports popular PoC applications like Zello, Real-ptt, walkiefleet, and POCstar. To use PoC:

  1. Ensure you have an active data connection (Wi-Fi or 4G).
  2. Open your preferred PoC application.
  3. Select a contact or group.
  4. Press and hold the large orange PTT button on the left side of the device to transmit your voice. Release to listen.

6.3 GPS Functionality

The Y18 includes GPS for accurate positioning and navigation. Use pre-installed map applications or download others from the app store. Ensure location services are enabled in the Android settings.

6.4 Flashlight

The device is equipped with an LED 1W flashlight on the top. To activate or deactivate the flashlight, refer to the device's quick settings or a dedicated button if available (as shown in Video 5.1).

6.5 FM Radio

To use the FM Radio function, you must plug in headphones (not included) into the 3.5mm jack. The headphones act as an antenna for receiving FM signals.

6.6 Volume Adjustment

Adjust the device volume using the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons located on the right side of the device (as shown in Video 5.1).

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Care

The Y18 is equipped with a 4000mAh battery. For optimal battery life, avoid extreme temperatures and fully discharge and recharge the battery periodically. Use only the provided charger and cable.

7.2 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before cleaning to maintain its IP55 water-resistant rating.

7.3 Environmental Conditions

The device is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C. Avoid exposing the device to temperatures outside this range to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to the charger and try again.
  • No network signal: Check if the SIM card is correctly inserted. Verify network coverage in your area. Restart the device.
  • PoC application issues: Ensure you have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or 4G). Check the application settings and your account status.
  • GPS not working: Ensure location services are enabled in Android settings. Move to an open area for better satellite reception.
  • FM Radio static: Ensure headphones are securely plugged in and functioning as an antenna.

9. User Tips

  • Android Customization: The Y18 runs on Android 9.0, offering flexibility for customization. Users interested in modifying or changing the Android system should consult official Anysecu support channels for guidance to avoid voiding the warranty or damaging the device.
  • App Management: Regularly update your PoC and other applications to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.
  • Battery Saving: To extend battery life, reduce screen brightness, disable Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/GPS when not in use, and close background applications.

10. Warranty and Support

The Anysecu Y18 device comes with a 12-month warranty for the main unit and a 6-month warranty for accessories from the date of receipt. This warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal use. For any issues or support inquiries, please contact the seller or authorized service center. Keep your purchase receipt as proof of purchase for warranty claims.
