4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Choosing the Right Microphone

The Q58-MAX comes with different microphone types to suit various helmet designs:

  • Soft Microphone: Ideal for full-face helmets where the microphone can be easily positioned inside the helmet.
  • Hard Microphone: Best for open-face or half-helmets where the microphone needs to be rigid and extend towards the mouth.
  • 2-in-1 Microphone: A versatile option suitable for most helmet types.

4.2 Mounting the Intercom Unit

The Q58-MAX supports a split installation method for simple, convenient, and secure attachment to your helmet.

  1. Attach the clip-on base to the side of your helmet. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  2. Use the provided adhesive or Velcro to further secure the base if needed.
  3. Slide the Q58-Max host unit onto the installed base until it clicks into place.
  4. Attach the host Velcro to the helmet and the unit for additional stability.

4.3 Connecting Headphones and Microphone

  1. Insert the headphone and microphone connector into the designated port on the Q58-Max unit (Speaker/Marker Connector).
  2. Position the speakers inside your helmet, aligning them with your ears for optimal sound.
  3. Position the microphone near your mouth, ensuring it is clear of obstructions for clear voice pickup. Use the microphone pole Velcro to secure it.

4.4 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the Q58-MAX unit using the provided Type-C charging cable. Connect the cable to the charging port on the unit and a suitable USB power source. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the Q58-MAX is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the Power button until the LED indicator flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your smartphone or other Bluetooth device, search for "Q58-MAX" in the Bluetooth settings.
  4. Select "Q58-MAX" to pair. Once connected, the LED indicator will slow flash or turn solid.

5.3 Intercom Function

The Q58-MAX supports 500m two-person intercom. To initiate an intercom conversation with another Q58-MAX unit:

  1. Ensure both units are powered on and within range.
  2. Short press the Intercom button on one of the units.
  3. The units will attempt to connect. Once connected, you can communicate.
  4. To end the intercom, short press the Intercom button again.

5.4 Music Playback and Sharing

From Bluetooth Device: Once paired, music from your smartphone will play automatically. Use the Previous/Next Song and Volume Up/Down buttons to control playback.

From MicroSD Card: Insert a MicroSD card (4-32GB, formatted FAT32) with MP3 files into the slot. Use the Mode Key to switch to Micro SD card mode. Playback will begin automatically. Use the Previous/Next Song and Volume Up/Down buttons to control playback.

Music Sharing: Long press the Voice Assistant/Music Sharing button to share your music with a connected intercom unit. Both riders can then listen to the same audio.

5.5 FM Radio

Use the Mode Key to switch to FM radio mode. Short press the Voice Assistant/Music Sharing button for one-touch station search. The device will automatically store available stations. Use the Previous/Next Song buttons to cycle through stored stations.

5.6 AI Voice Assistant

Double-tap the Voice Assistant/Music Sharing button to activate your smartphone's AI voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant).

Cycle through the 6 preset sound effects (Natural, Rock, Popular, Classical, Jazz, Country) using the Mode Key to find your preferred audio style.
