5. Setup Instructions

5.1 Mounting the Display

  1. Securely attach the display to your motorcycle's handlebar using the provided mounting bracket.
  2. Ensure the display is positioned where it does not obstruct your view of the road or interfere with motorcycle controls.
  3. Tighten all screws to prevent movement during riding.

5.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided power cable to the M16C display.
  2. Connect the other end of the power cable to your motorcycle's 12V power supply. Ensure proper polarity (red to positive, black to negative).
  3. It is recommended to connect to a switched power source that turns off with the ignition to prevent battery drain.

5.3 Optional DVR Camera Installation

If your package includes DVR cameras:

  1. Mount the front and rear cameras in suitable positions on your motorcycle, ensuring a clear, unobstructed view. The cameras offer a max viewing angle of 110°.
  2. Connect the camera cables to the corresponding ports on the M16C wiring harness.
  3. Ensure all connections are secure and waterproof.

5.4 Optional TPMS Sensor Installation

If your package includes TPMS sensors:

  1. Install the tire pressure sensors onto your motorcycle's tire valves according to the sensor's specific instructions.
  2. Ensure the sensors are correctly paired with the M16C display (refer to the on-screen pairing guide if necessary).

5.5 Memory Card Insertion

Insert a TF card (up to 64GB, not included) into the designated slot on the M16C display for DVR recording and other data storage. Ensure the card is inserted correctly until it clicks into place.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button located on the device to turn the M16C display on or off.

6.2 Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto

  1. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
  2. On the M16C display, tap the 'CarPlay' or 'Android Auto' icon.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your phone via Bluetooth. Once paired, the device will establish a 5GHz WiFi connection for high-speed data transmission.
  4. Your phone's CarPlay or Android Auto interface will now be displayed on the M16C screen, allowing access to navigation, music, calls, and more.

6.3 Bluetooth Connectivity (BT Ear)

The M16C supports Dual Bluetooth 5.0, allowing flexible audio connections:

  • You can connect Bluetooth headsets directly to the M16C display for audio output from CarPlay/Android Auto.
  • Alternatively, your mobile phone can connect to Bluetooth headsets, and the M16C will route audio through the phone.

6.4 DVR Function (Optional)

If equipped with DVR cameras:

  1. The DVR system will automatically begin recording when the M16C display is powered on.
  2. Access recorded footage and DVR settings through the dedicated DVR application on the display.
  3. The cameras provide 1080P HD wide-angle recording and are IP67 waterproof for reliable performance.

6.5 TPMS Function (Optional)

If equipped with TPMS sensors:

  1. The TPMS system will display real-time tire pressure and temperature information on the M16C screen.
  2. The system is designed to immediately detect and alert you to any abnormal tire data.

6.6 Wireless Screen Mirroring (PhoneLink)

  1. Select the 'PhoneLink' option on the M16C display.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to mirror your smartphone's screen to the M16C display. This allows you to view your phone's content directly on the larger screen.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Use a soft, lint-free, damp cloth to clean the display screen and device body.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the screen or casing.

7.2 Waterproofing

  • The M16C display has an IP67 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against dust and temporary immersion in water.
  • While designed for outdoor use, avoid prolonged submersion in water.
  • Ensure all port covers (if any) are securely closed when not in use to maintain water resistance.

7.3 Operating Temperature

  • The device is designed to operate within a temperature range of -20°C to +70°C.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures outside this range for extended periods, as it may affect performance and longevity.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Display Not Turning On

  • Check all power cable connections to ensure they are secure.
  • Verify that your motorcycle's ignition is on and providing power to the device.
  • If connected to a switched power source, ensure the motorcycle is running or the ignition is in the 'on' position.

8.2 CarPlay/Android Auto Not Connecting

  • Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
  • On your smartphone, go to Bluetooth settings and 'forget' or 'unpair' the M16C device, then attempt to pair again from the M16C display.
  • Restart both the M16C display and your smartphone.
  • Ensure your smartphone's operating system is up-to-date.

8.3 No Audio Output

  • Verify that your Bluetooth headset or motorcycle's audio system is correctly connected to either the M16C or your smartphone.
  • Check the volume levels on both the M16C display and your connected audio device.
  • Ensure the correct audio output source is selected on the M16C.

8.4 DVR Not Recording

  • Check if a TF card is properly inserted into the M16C's slot.
  • Ensure the TF card has sufficient free storage space.
  • Format the TF card within the M16C settings (FAT32 format is generally recommended).
  • Verify that the DVR cameras are securely connected.

8.5 TPMS Not Displaying Data

  • Ensure the TPMS sensors are correctly installed on your tires.
  • Check if the TPMS sensors are properly paired with the M16C display. Refer to the device settings for pairing instructions.
  • If applicable, check the battery levels of the TPMS sensors.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance and access to the latest features, regularly check for and install firmware updates for your EKIY M16C display.
  • Always ensure your smartphone's operating system is up-to-date to maintain the best compatibility and performance with Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • When riding in challenging weather conditions, consider using a high-quality Bluetooth helmet communication system for clearer audio and safer communication.
  • Before long rides, ensure your TF card for the DVR is clear and has enough space to record your journey.
