5. Setup
5.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove the scooter from its packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all parts listed in the package contents are present. The package includes: 1 x LAOTIE ES18 Lite Folding Electric Scooter, 1 x EU Charger, 1 x Installation Tool.
5.2 Assembly
Your LAOTIE ES18 Lite scooter comes mostly pre-assembled. You may need to:
- Unfold the Scooter: Release the folding mechanism and raise the stem until it locks into place.
- Attach Handlebars: Secure the handlebars to the stem, ensuring all cables are properly routed and not pinched.
- Tighten Screws: It is crucial to check and tighten all screws and fasteners upon receiving the scooter and before your first ride. Use the provided installation tool for this purpose.
5.3 Initial Charging
Before your first ride, fully charge the scooter's battery. The standard charging time is 5-6 hours.
- Locate the charging port on the scooter.
- Connect the EU charger to the charging port, then plug it into a power outlet.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on the scooter, insert the key into the volt lock (4) and turn it. Then press the Boot button (9) on the dashboard.
- To power off, turn the key to the off position and/or press and hold the Boot button (9).
6.2 Dashboard Functions
The Smart Dashboard (5) provides real-time information and controls:
- Front Light Button (1): Activates/deactivates the ultra-bright LED front light.
- Turn Signal Button (2): Activates the turn signals for indicating direction.
- Horn Button (3): Sounds the horn.
- Volt Lock with Key (4): Secures the scooter and acts as the main power switch.
- Colorful LCD Display (5): Shows speed, total mileage, gear position, and power display. Includes a USB port for charging external devices.
- Accelerator (6): Controls the speed of the scooter.
- Speed Limit Button (7): Adjusts or sets speed limits.
- Single / Dual Engine Button (8): Toggles between single motor mode (for extended range) and dual motor mode (for maximum power).
- Boot Button (9): Powers on/off the scooter (after key is turned).
- Speed Gear (10): Selects different speed modes (e.g., Eco, Standard, Sport).
6.3 Riding the Scooter
- Ensure you are wearing appropriate safety gear.
- Place one foot on the deck and push off with the other foot to gain initial momentum.
- Gently press the accelerator (6) to engage the motor.

- Maintain balance and keep both hands on the handlebars.
6.4 Braking
