3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

The device is equipped with a built-in rechargeable polymer lithium battery (390mAh). Use the provided Type-C data cable to charge the device. The charging port is located at the bottom of the device. Ensure the device is fully charged before first use for optimal performance.

3.2 Power On/Off

Press the 'back' button (power button) located on the front interface to turn the device on or off.

4.1 General Operation

The device features a high-definition backlit color display for clear visibility and intuitive prompts. It also includes live voice broadcast for convenient, distraction-free operation, providing real-time readings without needing to constantly look at the screen.

4.2 Wall Detection Modes

The device offers three primary detection modes: Wood, Metal, and AC Voltage. Use the mode selection buttons on the device to switch between these modes.

• Wood Detection: Detects wooden studs behind walls, ceilings, and floors. The device will alert you when a wooden object is found. Maximum detection depth: 3.8cm.
• Metal Detection: Detects magnetic metals (e.g., steel bars, iron) and non-magnetic metals (e.g., copper pipes, wires). The display will indicate the presence and depth of metal. Maximum detection depth: 8cm.
• AC Voltage Detection: Identifies live AC cables behind walls. Exercise caution when live wires are detected. Maximum detection depth: 5cm.

4.4 Laser Meter Function (NF-513S Only)

Use the 'DIST' and 'MEAS' buttons for laser measurements and 'SURVEY' for wall detection/system settings. The device can store up to 50 sets of historical data for easy recording and retrieval.

5. Maintenance

6. Troubleshooting

• Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a Type-C charger and allow it to charge for some time.
• Inaccurate readings:
  • Ensure the device is properly calibrated before use (some devices auto-calibrate).
  • Make sure the wall surface is clean and dry.
  • Avoid strong electromagnetic interference from other devices.
  • Ensure the device is held flat against the surface and moved slowly.
• No detection:
  • Verify the correct detection mode is selected (Wood, Metal, AC Voltage).
  • Check the depth limits for each material (e.g., wood up to 3.8cm, metal up to 8cm, AC wire up to 5cm).
  • For live AC wires, ensure the wire is actually live and carrying current.

• For best results, calibrate the device on a clear section of the wall before scanning. Move the detector slowly and steadily across the surface. Pay attention to both visual indicators on the screen and audible alerts for precise localization.
• When detecting wood, ensure the device is in 'Wood Mode' and move it horizontally across the wall. The device will indicate the edges of the stud.
