2.1 Package Contents

2.2 Installation Instructions

Ensure the motorcycle is turned off and the battery is disconnected before beginning installation.

2.2.1 Main Unit and Bracket Installation

  1. Attach the mounting bracket securely to your motorcycle's handlebars or a suitable location.
  2. Mount the EKIY M17 main unit onto the bracket. Ensure it is firmly attached and positioned for optimal viewing without obstructing your ride.

2.2.2 Power Connection

The device can be powered using either a 3-core or 2-core ACC power cord. Ensure your vehicle's voltage is above 12V.

For 3-core Power Cord:

  1. Connect the Red wire to the motorcycle's ACC (Accessory) power source.
  2. Connect the Black wire to the motorcycle's GND (Ground).
  3. Connect the Yellow wire to the motorcycle's B+ (Battery Positive) for constant power.

For 2-core Power Cord:

  1. Connect the Red wire to the motorcycle's ACC (Accessory) power source.
  2. Connect the Black wire to the motorcycle's GND (Ground).

2.2.3 Camera Installation

Install the AHD cameras at the front and rear of your motorcycle, ensuring a clear and unobstructed view. Connect them to the designated ports on the power box as shown in the wiring diagram (Figure 2.3).

2.2.4 Wired Remote Controller Installation

The wired remote controller can be fixed using either 3M adhesive or a strap, positioned conveniently near your handlebars for easy access.

2.2.5 TPMS Sensor Installation

If your model includes TPMS sensors, install them on your tire valves. Ensure 'A' is for the front wheel and 'B' is for the rear wheel. Use the provided tool to tighten the sensors and check for air leakage.

2.2.6 Memory Card Installation

Insert a Micro TF card (up to 256GB, Class 10 or above recommended) into the designated slot. Important: Format the memory card on the device before its first use.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Operation

  1. Power On/Off: Long press the power button for 3 seconds.
  2. Touch Function On/Off: Short press the power button to toggle the touch screen functionality.

3.2 Main Interface Overview

The main interface displays various functions and information:

  • Driving Recorder: Access recorded footage and live camera views.
  • Interconnect: For CarPlay, Android Auto, HiCar, and Baidu CarLife+ connections.
  • BT: Bluetooth settings.
  • Settings: Access system and device configurations.
  • Volume Control: Adjust audio output.
  • Record: Start/stop video recording.
  • Photo: Take still images.
  • Video Lock/Unlock: Protect important video files from being overwritten.
  • Clock: Displays current time and date.

3.3 System Settings

Navigate to the 'Settings' icon on the main interface to configure the device:

  • Language: Select your preferred language (English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Russian, Hebrew).
  • Time Setting: Adjust the clock and date.
  • Phone Audio: Enable/disable audio output through your phone or Bluetooth headset. When enabled, the device itself will not produce sound.
  • Button Sound: Turn button press sounds on or off.
  • WiFi Switch: Enable/disable WiFi.
  • Format SD Memory Card: Format the inserted Micro TF card. Warning: This will erase all recorded files and cannot be undone.
  • Restore Factory Settings: Reset all settings to their default values.
  • About: View version information, WiFi name, and password.
  • TPMS Detection: Configure tire pressure warning settings.
  • Screen Off Timer: Set the duration after which the screen will enter screen saver mode (1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, or off).
  • GPS Information: View GPS data.

3.4 Recorder Settings

Access 'Recorder Settings' from the main interface or system settings:

  • Resolution: Set video recording resolution (e.g., 1080P).
  • Loop Recording: Configure loop recording duration (1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes).
  • Collision Sensitivity: Adjust the G-sensor sensitivity for collision detection (off, low, medium, high).
  • Parking Monitoring: Enable/disable parking monitoring.
  • Time Watermark: Turn time and date watermark on or off for recorded videos.
  • GPS Switch: Enable/disable GPS functionality for track recording.

3.5 Connectivity

3.5.1 Wireless CarPlay (for iPhone)

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone.
  2. On the M17 device, navigate to the 'Interconnect' section and select 'Apple CarPlay'.
  3. On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > CarPlay and enable it.
  4. Pair your iPhone with the M17 device via Bluetooth. The device's Bluetooth name will be 'DVR-XXXXXX'.
  5. Confirm the pairing on both devices. Once connected, the CarPlay interface will appear on the M17 screen, allowing access to phone, music, maps, and other apps.
  6. To return to the M17's main interface, use the virtual Home button on the CarPlay screen.

3.5.2 Wireless Android Auto (for Android Phones)

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your Android phone (Android 10 or higher recommended).
  2. On the M17 device, navigate to the 'Interconnect' section and select 'Android Auto'.
  3. On your Android phone, go to Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device. Search for and select the M17 device (Bluetooth name: 'DVR-XXXXXX').
  4. Confirm pairing and allow access to messages.
  5. Once connected, the Android Auto interface will appear on the M17 screen, providing access to navigation, music, and other compatible apps.
  6. To return to the M17's main interface, use the virtual Home button on the Android Auto screen.

3.5.3 HiCar (for Huawei Phones)

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your Huawei phone.
  2. On the M17 device, navigate to the 'Interconnect' section and select 'HiCar'.
  3. Install the 'Hicar' app on your Huawei phone.
  4. Pair your Huawei phone with the M17 device via Bluetooth (Bluetooth name: 'DVR-XXXXXX').
  5. Once the connection is established, the HiCar interface will display on the M17 screen. A HiCar card will pop up on your phone; click to connect and enter the PIN code if prompted.
  6. To return to the M17's main interface, use the virtual HiCar key.

3.5.4 Baidu CarLife+ (for Android Phones)

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your Android phone.
  2. On the M17 device, navigate to the 'Interconnect' section and select 'Baidu CarLife+'.
  3. Download and install the 'Baidu CarLife+' app on your Android phone and register a Baidu account.
  4. After selecting 'Android Carlife' in the mobile interconnect settings, exit and re-enter the settings menu. The WiFi switch will become WiFi information.
  5. Open WiFi information, search for your phone's WiFi hotspot, connect, and then connect Bluetooth (Bluetooth name: 'DVR-XXXXXX'). Open the CarLife app on your phone, and it should automatically connect.
  6. To return to the M17's main interface, use the virtual 'Return to Car System' key.

3.5.5 TPMS Pairing

  1. On the M17 device, navigate to the TPMS interface and click 'Start' for pairing.
  2. Install the 'A' sensor on the front wheel and the 'B' sensor on the rear wheel.
  3. The device will pair with the sensors.
  4. You can adjust the low and high pressure alarm values using the '▲' and '▼' buttons.

3.5.6 APP Installation and Usage (Viidure)

  1. Install the 'Viidure' app on your smartphone. You can scan the QR code provided in the manual or search for 'Viidure' (or '6 detectives' / '錄風者') in your app store. Ensure to grant all necessary permissions.
  2. Connect your phone to the M17 device's WiFi (WiFi name: 'DVR-XXXXXX').
  3. Open the 'Viidure' app and click to connect to the recorder.
  4. Once connected, you can use the app for various functions such as live view, recording, taking photos, and viewing recorded videos.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and device body. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
