1. Introduction
The MRCARTOOL L205 Digital Manifold Gauge is a versatile instrument designed for HVAC and refrigeration system diagnostics. It simultaneously measures double pressure (gauge pressure) and dual temperature, offering automatic multi-unit pressure conversion and temperature unit conversion (°C/°F). It features a built-in database of 89 types of refrigerants, allowing for direct calculation and display of subcooling and superheat values. Additionally, it performs vacuum percentage measurements and pressure leak tests with time and speed records. This multi-functional tool provides accurate and easy-to-operate diagnostics for various refrigeration applications.
2. Safety Rules and Precautions
- The pressure measured by the digital manifold pressure tester is gauge pressure.
- Pressure testing ranges from -101Kpa to 6Mpa (-0.1bar to 60bar).
- The limit pressure is 10 Mpa (100 bar).
- The maximum operating pressure of standard hose is 600 PSI (approximately 4.13 Mpa, 41.3 bar). The limit pressure is 3000 PSI (approximately 20.68 Mpa, 206.8 bar).
- Please confirm the rated pressure value of the tested equipment before testing. Do not use it if it exceeds the range of the instrument.
- Do not use and store the instrument in high temperature, high humidity, flammable, explosive, and strong electromagnetic fields.
- Please do not change the instrument's internal circuit to avoid any damage to the instrument or danger occurring.
- Please wear qualified protective equipment to protect the user during testing.
- Please use the instrument in a well-ventilated environment to prevent inhalation of toxic gases.

Before operating the MRCARTOOL L205, ensure you have read and understood all safety precautions. Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment (12) and insert 3x AA 1.5V batteries.
- Power On: Press the Power/Backlight button (6) to turn on the device.
- Pressure Zeroing: If necessary, press the "FN ZERO" button to zero the pressure readings.
- Connect Refrigerant Hoses:
- Connect the appropriate refrigerant hoses to the Low Pressure Inlet (5) and High Pressure Inlet (10) on the manifold gauge.
- Connect the other ends of the hoses to the vehicle's high and low-pressure pipes.
- Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.
- Connect to Vacuum Pump (if performing vacuum measurement):
- Connect a hose from the Refrigerant/Vacuum Pump Inlet (11) on the manifold gauge to the vacuum pump outlet port.
- Turn on the vacuum pump.
- Connect to Refrigerant Tank (if performing refrigerant filling):
- Connect a hose from the Refrigerant/Vacuum Pump Inlet (11) on the manifold gauge to the refrigerant tank.
- Open the valve on the refrigerant tank.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. General Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the Power/Backlight button (6) to turn the device on or off. A short press also toggles the backlight.
- Unit Switching: Use the "UNIT °C/°F" button to cycle through pressure units (Kpa, Mpa, bar, inHg, psi) and temperature units (°C, °F).
- Refrigerant Selection: Use the Function buttons (7) (up/down arrows) to select the desired refrigerant from the built-in database.
6.2. Dual-Channel Measurement
The L205 provides simultaneous measurement of temperature and pressure values for both high-pressure and low-pressure lines, facilitating comparative analysis of the refrigerant system's condition. The display shows:
- EV: Evaporation temperature
- CO: Condensation temperature
- LP: Pressure at Low Pressure (LP) pipelines
- HP: Pressure at High Pressure (HP) pipelines
6.3. Pressure Leakage Test
To perform a pressure leakage test:
- Ensure the system is properly connected and pressurized.
- Navigate to the leak test function on the device.
- The display will show "Test Time" (HH:MM), "Leak Pressure" (ΔP), "Start Pressure", and "Current Pressure".
- Monitor the "Leak Pressure" (ΔP) value over time. A significant change indicates a leak.
6.4. Vacuum Measurement
The L205 can perform vacuum operations on refrigeration systems, displaying real-time vacuum pressure and vacuum percentage data.
- Connect the device to a vacuum pump and the system as described in the Setup section.
- Navigate to the vacuum measurement function.
- The display will show "VAC" (Vacuum Percentage) and "Pressure" (Vacuum Pressure).
- Monitor these values during the vacuum process.
6.5. Refrigerant Filling
After vacuuming the system, the L205 can assist in refrigerant filling:
- Connect the device to the refrigerant tank and the system as described in the Setup section.
- Select the correct refrigerant type using the Function buttons.
- Open the low pressure valve (3) or high pressure valve (9) as required for filling.
- Monitor the pressure and temperature readings on the display to ensure proper filling levels.
7. User Tips
- Refrigerant Compatibility: The L205 has a built-in database of 89 refrigerants. Always verify that your specific refrigerant (e.g., R134a, R410A, R125) is supported by checking the device's refrigerant list before use.
