4. Setup and Installation

The ACMER P2 Pre-Assembled Edition is designed for quick setup. The machine is rigorously tested and assembled before leaving the factory.

4.1 Unboxing

Carefully remove the machine and all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in Section 3 are present and undamaged.

4.2 Laser Module Installation (if not pre-installed)

If your laser module is not pre-installed, follow these steps:

  1. Carefully attach the 1064nm 2W IR Laser Module to the designated carriage on the machine frame.
  2. Secure it using the provided screws and screwdriver.
  3. Connect the necessary cables from the laser module to the main control unit.

4.3 Connecting Power and Computer

  1. Connect the power adapter to the machine and then to a suitable power outlet.
  2. (Optional) Connect the machine to your computer using the provided USB cable for software control.
  3. (Optional) Ensure your Wi-Fi module is configured for wireless control via the ACMER APP.

  • LightBurn

Supported operating systems include Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Input image formats supported are JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, SVG, AI, G-code, NC, BMP, etc.

5.2 Preparing for Engraving/Cutting

  1. Place Material: Position your material (e.g., wood, metal, acrylic) securely within the 420x400mm engraving area. The X-axis and Y-axis feature precise scale lines for easy measurement.
  2. Focus Adjustment: Adjust the laser focus according to the material and desired effect. The laser spot size is 0.03mm for ultra-fine engraving.
  3. Software Setup: Load your design into your chosen software (LightBurn, LaserGRBL, or ACMER APP). Configure engraving parameters such as speed (up to 30000mm/min) and power.
  4. Air Assist: If using the air-assist kit, ensure it is connected and adjust the 30L/min air pump's airflow speed as needed to prevent charring and improve cut quality.
