1. Introduction

The CPVan BRJ-502D is an independent combustible gas alarm designed to continuously monitor the concentration of indoor gas leakage. Utilizing advanced gas-sensitive sensing technology and a cost-effective microprocessor, this device provides reliable protection against potential hazards such as poisoning, explosions, and fires caused by gas leaks. When the leakage concentration reaches a preset alarm level, the detector activates a sound and light alarm. 5. Setup and Installation

  1. Unpack the Detector: Carefully remove the gas detector from its packaging.
  2. Choose an Installation Location:
    • For natural gas (lighter than air): Install the detector 30cm below the ceiling, within 1.5 meters horizontally from the gas source.
    • For LPG (heavier than air): Install the detector 30cm above the floor, within 1.5 meters horizontally from the gas source.
    • Avoid areas near windows, doors, ventilation fans, or areas with high humidity or steam.
  3. Plug In the Detector: Insert the EU plug of the detector directly into a standard AC100V~AC240V wall socket.
  4. Initial Warm-up: Upon plugging in, the detector will enter a warm-up phase. The POWER (green) LED will illuminate, and the STATE (yellow/orange) LED may flash or remain steady. The LCD display might show a countdown or '0'. This phase typically lasts a few minutes.
  5. Ready for Operation: Once the warm-up is complete, the POWER (green) and STATE (yellow/orange) LEDs should be steady, and the LCD display should show '0' (indicating no gas detected). The detector is now operational.

6. Operating Instructions

Normal Operation:

During normal operation, the green POWER LED and yellow/orange STATE LED will be steadily lit. The LCD display will show '0', indicating that no combustible gas is detected in the environment.

Alarm Condition:

If the detector senses a combustible gas concentration reaching the alarm threshold:

  • The red ALARM LED will flash.
  • An audible alarm (≥85dB) will sound continuously.
  • The LCD display will show the detected gas concentration level.

Action during Alarm:

  1. Immediately open all windows and doors to ventilate the area.
  2. Turn off all gas appliances and the main gas supply valve.
  3. Do not operate electrical switches, light matches, or create any ignition sources.
  4. If the alarm persists, evacuate the premises and contact your gas supplier or emergency services.

Self-Test Function:

The detector may have a self-test button (often the large circular button on the front). Press and hold this button briefly to initiate a self-test. The device should emit a test alarm sound and flash its LEDs to confirm functionality. Refer to the specific product for exact self-test procedures.

  • Regular Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior of the detector with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Ensure no liquid enters the ventilation holes.
  • Avoid Obstructions: Ensure that the ventilation holes on the detector are not blocked by dust, dirt, or other objects.
  • Periodic Testing: Test the detector at least once a month using the self-test function to ensure the alarm and indicators are working correctly.
