1. Introduction

3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the main components and controls of your RT-4D radio:

• Antenna: For transmitting and receiving signals.

4. Initial Setup

3. To remove, press the battery release latch and slide the battery out.

1. Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

4.3 Charging the Battery

The RT-4D offers two charging methods:

• Using the Desktop Charger:
  1. Connect the power adapter to the desktop charger and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. Place the radio (with battery installed) into the desktop charger. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
• Using the Type-C Charging Cable:
  1. Connect the Type-C charging cable to the Type-C port on the side of the radio.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., power adapter, computer USB port). The radio's indicator light will show charging status.

5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment

1. Power On: Rotate the Volume/ON/OFF knob clockwise until you hear a click and the radio powers on.
2. Power Off: Rotate the Volume/ON/OFF knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the radio powers off.
3. Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Volume/ON/OFF knob to increase (clockwise) or decrease (counter-clockwise) the audio volume.

The RT-4D allows switching between channels, direct frequency input, and zone selection:

• Use the keypad to enter specific channel numbers or frequencies.
