3. Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the main components and controls of your RT-4D radio:

- Antenna: For transmitting and receiving signals.
- Volume/ON/OFF Button: Rotates to adjust volume and press to power on/off.

4. Initial Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Align the battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery into place until it clicks securely.
- To remove, press the battery release latch and slide the battery out.
4.2 Antenna Attachment
- Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
4.3 Charging the Battery
The RT-4D offers two charging methods:
- Using the Desktop Charger:
- Connect the power adapter to the desktop charger and plug it into a power outlet.
- Place the radio (with battery installed) into the desktop charger. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
- Using the Type-C Charging Cable:
- Connect the Type-C charging cable to the Type-C port on the side of the radio.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., power adapter, computer USB port). The radio's indicator light will show charging status.

5. Basic Operation
5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
- Power On: Rotate the Volume/ON/OFF knob clockwise until you hear a click and the radio powers on.
- Power Off: Rotate the Volume/ON/OFF knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the radio powers off.
- Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Volume/ON/OFF knob to increase (clockwise) or decrease (counter-clockwise) the audio volume.
5.2 Channel, Frequency, and Zone Switching
The RT-4D allows switching between channels, direct frequency input, and zone selection:
- Use the keypad to enter specific channel numbers or frequencies.
- Navigate through zones using the menu or programmable side keys.
