3. Setup Guide

3.1. Unpacking and Package Contents

Carefully unpack your BFOUR BF-60 Meat Thermometer and check for the following items:

  • 1 x BFOUR BF-60 Booster Unit
  • 2 x Temperature Probes (Black and White for easy identification)
  • 1 x Type-C Charging Cable
  • 1 x User Manual

3.2. Charging the Device

Ensure both the probes and the booster unit are fully charged before first use.

  • Booster Unit: Connect the Type-C cable to the booster unit and a suitable USB power adapter. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours and provides over 100 hours of working time.
  • Probes: Insert the probes into their designated slots in the booster unit. The probes charge quickly; a 2-minute charge provides up to 40 hours of working time.

3.3. App Installation

To utilize the smart features of your thermometer, download the "BFOUR" app on your smartphone:

  1. Search for "BFOUR" in your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
  2. Download and install the app.
  3. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account or log in.

3.4. Device Pairing

Pair your BFOUR BF-60 booster unit with the app:

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  2. Open the "BFOUR" app.
  3. On the app's home screen, tap "Add Device" or the '+' icon.
  4. Select the BF-60 model from the list of available devices.
  5. The app will automatically search for and connect to your booster unit. A confirmation message will appear upon successful connection.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Inserting the Probes

Carefully insert the probes into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bones. The probes are color-coded (black and white) to help you differentiate between different cuts or types of meat being monitored.

4.2. Setting Temperature and Monitoring

You can monitor temperatures directly on the booster's HD display or through the BFOUR app.

  • Using the App:
    1. Once connected, select a probe channel (CH1 or CH2).
    2. Choose from 12 USDA presets for various meats (e.g., Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish) and 5 taste presets (e.g., Rare, Medium, Well Done).
    3. You can also manually set your desired target temperature.
    4. The app will display current temperature, target temperature, and a live data graph.
  • Booster Display: The booster unit's display will show the current and preset temperatures for both probes.

4.3. Alarm Alerts

The device features dual alarm alerts. When the meat reaches the preset target temperature, both the booster unit and your smartphone app will trigger an alarm, ensuring you don't overcook your food.

4.4. Temperature Unit Conversion

You can easily switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) within the BFOUR app settings to suit your preference.

4.5. Remote Monitoring Range

The BFOUR BF-60 offers impressive remote monitoring capabilities:

  • Probe to Booster: Up to 70m (200ft) when the grill lid is open. When the grill lid is closed or obstacles are present, the range is optimized for 3 to 10m (10ft-33ft).
  • Booster to Mobile Phone: Up to 100m (328ft) in open areas, allowing you to monitor your cooking from a distance.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning the Probes

The probes are 100% waterproof (IP67 rated) and designed for easy cleaning.

  • After each use, allow the probes to cool down.
  • Wash the probes directly with water and mild soap, or place them in a dishwasher.
  • Ensure they are thoroughly dry before storing.

5.2. Cleaning the Booster Unit

The booster unit is not waterproof. Clean it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse it in water or use abrasive cleaners.
