This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Asus X99-DELUXE Motherboard. Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Always handle components with care and use anti-static precautions.

1. Prepare the Chassis

  • Install the I/O shield into the rear opening of your computer chassis.
  • Ensure standoffs are correctly aligned for ATX form factor motherboards.

2. Install the CPU

  1. Locate the LGA 2011-V3 socket on the motherboard.
  2. Open the CPU socket retention mechanism.
  3. Carefully place the Intel LGA 2011-V3 processor into the socket, aligning the golden triangle on the CPU with the triangle on the socket.
  4. Close the retention mechanism to secure the CPU.
  5. Apply thermal paste and install the CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.

3. Install Memory (RAM)

The X99-DELUXE supports DDR4 memory in a quad-channel configuration. Refer to the motherboard's silkscreen for proper slot population for optimal performance.

  1. Open the clips on both ends of the DDR4 memory slots.
  2. Align the memory module with the slot, ensuring the notch on the module matches the key in the slot.
  3. Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.

4. Install Expansion Cards

This motherboard features multiple PCIe 3.0 slots (4x PCIe x16, 2x PCIe x1, 2x PCI). Install your graphics card(s) and other expansion cards into the appropriate slots.

  1. Remove the metal bracket from the chassis corresponding to the desired PCIe slot.
  2. Align the expansion card with the slot and press down firmly until it is seated.
  3. Secure the card with a screw to the chassis.

5. Connect Storage Devices

The motherboard provides 8 SATA 3 ports for connecting storage devices.

  1. Connect SATA data cables from your SSDs/HDDs to the SATA 3 ports on the motherboard.
  2. Connect SATA power cables from your power supply to your storage devices.

6. Connect Power Supply

Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin (or 4+4-pin) CPU power connector from your power supply to the corresponding ports on the motherboard.

7. Connect Front Panel Headers and Peripherals

Connect the front panel connectors (power button, reset button, USB, audio) to their respective headers on the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard manual for exact pin layouts.

Operation

First Boot and BIOS/UEFI Setup

  1. After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  2. Power on your system. Press the DEL or F2 key repeatedly during startup to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility.
  3. In the BIOS/UEFI, you can configure boot order, enable/disable features, set memory profiles (XMP), and monitor system status.
  4. Save changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI to proceed with operating system installation.

Driver Installation

After installing your operating system, install the necessary drivers for the motherboard chipset, LAN, audio, and any other integrated components. These are typically found on the manufacturer's website.

Cleaning
