5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your TYT CB Mini radio:
5.1 Connecting the Microphone
- Locate the Microphone Jack (1) on the front panel of the radio.
- Align the 6-pin connector of the Speaker Mic with the Microphone Jack.
- Gently push and twist the connector clockwise until it is securely fastened.
5.2 Power Connection
- Connect the provided Power Cable to the DC Power Cable Connector (11) on the rear of the radio.
- Ensure the red wire connects to the positive (+) terminal and the black wire to the negative (-) terminal of your 13.8V DC power source.
- Use the included fuses for protection.
5.3 Antenna Connection
- Connect your UHF (SO239) compatible antenna to the Antenna Jack (10) on the rear of the radio.
- Ensure the connection is tight to prevent signal loss.
5.4 Mounting the Radio
Use the provided bracket and screw sets to securely mount the radio in your vehicle or desired location. Ensure it is placed in a position that does not obstruct driving or safety features.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control
Turn the Power On/Off Volume control (7) clockwise to power on the radio and adjust the volume. Turn counter-clockwise to decrease volume and power off.
6.2 Channel Selection
Use the UP/DN buttons on the microphone to select your desired channel. The selected channel will be displayed on the LCD (8).
6.3 Modulation Mode (A/FM MENU)
Press the A/FM MENU button (2) to switch between AM and FM modulation modes.
6.4 Squelch (ASQ BEEP)
Press the ASQ BEEP button (3) to activate or adjust the Automatic Squelch (ASQ) or manual Squelch (SQ) level. This helps to suppress background noise when no signal is present.
6.5 RF Gain and Mic Gain (RFG MICG)
Press the RFG MICG button (4) to adjust the RF Gain (reception sensitivity) or Mic Gain (microphone sensitivity). Use the channel selector or volume knob to change the level.
6.6 Dual Watch (DW SCAN)
Press the DW SCAN button (5) to activate the Dual Watch function, allowing you to monitor two channels simultaneously. Press again to activate the SCAN function, which scans through active channels.
6.7 Noise Reduction Lock (NR LOCK)
Press the NR LOCK button (6) to activate the Noise Reduction feature or to lock the current settings.
6.8 Transmitting
To transmit, press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on the microphone. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen.

7. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your TYT CB Mini radio:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Storage: Store the radio in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Connections: Periodically check all connections (antenna, power, microphone) for tightness and corrosion.
- Fuses: If the radio does not power on, check and replace the fuses if necessary. Use only fuses of the specified rating (2A).
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check power cable connection, vehicle's fuse box, and the radio's inline fuses. Ensure the power source is 13.8V DC.
- No Transmission/Reception: Verify antenna connection. Ensure the correct modulation mode (AM/FM) is selected. Check squelch settings.
- Poor Audio Quality: Adjust Mic Gain and RF Gain. Check for loose microphone connection.
- Interference: Adjust Noise Reduction (NR) and Squelch (ASQ/SQ) settings.

10. User Tips
- Band Switching: To switch bands, remove the 3 jumpers on the internal board. Then, power up the radio while holding the PTT button. Use the channel UP/DOWN buttons on the microphone to select the desired band.
- Frequency Awareness: This radio operates on the 11-meter band (27 MHz), which is common for Citizen Band (CB) radio. It is not designed for the 10-meter band.
