Operating Instructions
The PawHut Dog Car Separator is designed for simple operation once installed.
Adjusting Height and Width
If you need to adjust the height or width after initial installation, simply loosen the corresponding adjustment knobs, reposition the poles/bars as needed, and then re-tighten all knobs firmly. Always ensure the barrier is stable and secure before transporting your pet.
Removing the Separator
To remove the separator, loosen all adjustment knobs, retract the vertical poles and horizontal bars, and then carefully lift the unit out of the trunk. It can be easily disassembled for compact storage when not in use.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe down the steel and plastic components with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all parts for wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure the non-slip PVC suction cups are clean and free of debris for optimal grip.
- Storage: When not in use, disassemble the separator and store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong its lifespan.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Separator feels unstable or wobbly. | Adjustment knobs are not tightened sufficiently, or poles/bars are not fully extended to fit the space. | Ensure all adjustment knobs are firmly tightened. Re-adjust height and width to create a snug fit against the car's interior surfaces. Check that suction cups are clean and making good contact. |
| Separator does not fit my car trunk. | Vehicle dimensions are outside the adjustable range of the separator. | Verify your car's trunk dimensions against the product specifications (Adjustable Height: 60-105 cm, Adjustable Width: 87-135 cm). This product is universal but may not fit all vehicles. |
| Horizontal bars slide down. | Connectors for horizontal bars are not tightened. | Ensure the adjustment knobs on the horizontal bar connectors are securely tightened. |
User Tips
- Check Vehicle Compatibility: Before purchasing or installing, measure your car's trunk height and width to ensure it falls within the adjustable range of the PawHut Dog Car Separator (Height: 60-105 cm, Width: 87-135 cm). This helps confirm it will fit specific models like an Audi A4 Avant B9 2017.
- Optimal Placement: Position the barrier as close to the rear seats as possible to maximize trunk space for your pet while maintaining a secure fit.
- Regular Checks: Especially during initial use, check the barrier's stability frequently to ensure it remains firmly in place.
