3. Installation Instructions
3.1 Memory Card Installation
The DDPAI MINI2X Dash Cam supports Micro-SD cards up to 256GB. Ensure the dash cam is powered off before installation.
- Install the Memory Card: Insert the memory card halfway into the slot. Use a fingernail or paper clip to push the card inward until it clicks and locks.
- Remove the Memory Card: Gently push the card's edge inward until it clicks and pops out, then pull it from the slot.
Note:
- Purchase a branded Micro-SD card (up to 256GB) separately. Known compatible brands include Lexar, Kingston, Samsung, and Toshiba.
- Format the memory card before first use via the DDPAI App to prevent errors and ensure smooth operation.
- Do not remove the memory card while the Dash Cam is powered on.
3.2 Dash Cam Installation
The dash cam can be powered via a cigarette lighter, fuse box, or OBD interface. The following steps detail the installation process.
Cigarette Lighter Power Supply
- Wipe the front windshield: Clean the windshield with a soft cloth to ensure the bracket adheres firmly.
- Power on the Dash Cam: Insert the car charger into the cigarette lighter, then connect the dash cam using the Type-C power cord. The dash cam will automatically start and begin recording when the car starts.
- Determine installation position and adjust lens angle:
- Connect the dash cam to your mobile phone via the DDPAI App (refer to Section 4.1).
- In the DDPAI App, navigate to "Device Settings" > "ADAS intelligent assistance reminder" > "Adjust ADAS installation position".
- Select "Go to live preview" > "Enter live preview" to access the calibration interface. Follow the on-screen instructions to position the dash cam correctly.
- After installation, tap "Calibration completed" in the app.
- Stabilize the Dash Cam:
- Attach the electrostatic sticker to the chosen installation position on the windshield.
- Peel off the film from the 3M sticker on the mounting bracket and attach the bracket to the center of the electrostatic sticker.
Note:
Ensure correct direction and position when attaching the 3M sticker. Confirm the recording angle is correct before final attachment.
- Wiring: Route the power cord from the cigarette lighter receptacle to the dash cam, hiding it behind the car's plastic guard plate using a crowbar.
Connect the Fuse Box (Intelligent Hardwire Kit is Required)
This method provides a neat installation and enables parking monitoring. Due to its complexity, professional installation at an automobile service shop is recommended to prevent vehicle damage.
Note:
The intelligent hardwire kit must be purchased separately or as part of a package including the step-down cable.
Connect the OBD Interface (OBD Hardwire Kit is Required)
This method is easier to operate and also enables parking monitoring.
- Plug the Type-C connector of the OBD power cable into the Dash Cam's Type-C port.
- Connect the other end of the OBD power cable to the vehicle's OBD port.
Note:
- The OBD hardwire kit needs to be purchased separately or as part of a package including the OBD power cable.
- The location of the OBD port varies by vehicle model.

Share/Delete Photos or Videos
In the "Local Album" interface, hold a file to enter selection state, then choose to delete or share.
5.3 Parking Monitoring
Parking monitoring requires an intelligent hardwire kit (purchased separately). When the vehicle is off, the Dash Cam enters parking monitoring mode. It automatically records photos and videos during emergencies.
To set parking mode and battery protection voltage:
- Connect the mobile phone to the Dash Cam via the app.
- Tap "Device Settings" > "Enter after the vehicle has stalled".
- Select the desired parking monitoring mode.
Parking Mode: Time-lapse video recording
- Enters AOV (low-power) time-lapse recording after the car is off. Shuts down after set time or low voltage, wakes upon ignition.
- If a collision occurs, it takes a photo (file name starts with "G", ends with "X") and records the event. Switches to normal recording, then back to time-lapse after 2 minutes.
- Night vision (AI-ISP technology) activates for clearer night parking recording.
Parking Mode: Normal video recording
- Maintains normal recording after the car is off. Shuts down after set time or low voltage, wakes upon ignition.
- If a collision occurs, a photo (file name starts with "G", ends with "L") and an associated short video are taken.
Parking Mode: Sleep
- Enters AOV sleep state after the car is off. Upon collision, enters wake-up recording mode for 30 seconds, then returns to sleep. Shuts down on low voltage, wakes upon ignition.
- If collisions continue, time-lapse recording continues without time limit, using low-voltage protection.
Note:
- Parking monitoring requires the intelligent hardwire kit (optional).
- Disconnect from the app for the dash cam to enter parking monitoring mode.
5.4 Collision Detection & Locked Videos
When a collision is detected, the Dash Cam generates an emergency photo and video, stored separately and protected from loop recording deletion.
Setting Camera Sensitivity
Adjust sensitivity to control when the dash cam triggers recording. Default is "Medium".
- Connect to the app, go to "Device" > "Device Settings" > "Adjust collision sensitivity".
- Select "Driving" / "Parking" and set the appropriate sensitivity (High, Medium-high, Medium, Medium-low, Low, Off, Custom).

- 30s: 15 seconds before and after the event.
- Off: Still records 5 seconds before and after the event.
5.5 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
ADAS detects road conditions and provides driving reminders, including voice alerts for front vehicle start and fatigue driving.
Set the Sensitivity of ADAS
You can enable/disable ADAS and adjust its sensitivity.
- Connect to the app, go to "Device Settings" > "ADAS Intelligent Assistance Reminder".
- Choose sensitivity:
- High (Novice driver mode): Wider alarm range, triggers for high and low risks.
- Low (Veteran driver mode): Narrower alarm range, triggers for high risks only.

In "Advanced settings", enable/disable voice reminders:
- Voice Reminder for Front Car Starts: Alerts when the vehicle in front moves after a stop.
- Voice Reminder for Fatigue Driving: Prompts to take a break during long drives.
5.6 π Link Connection
The MINI2X supports multi-device interconnection. When two devices are networked, you can view real-time recordings from both on a single phone and perform operations like video playback and downloading.
Note:
- Supports up to two devices. Both devices must be powered on.
- The primary device is typically the front camera, and the secondary device is the rear camera. MINI2X defaults to a secondary device when networked.
Networking Process
