4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The BT-881E requires two 1.5V batteries (not included). To install or replace batteries:

- Insert two 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screws.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- Press the Power button (central button with power symbol) to turn the device ON.
- Press and hold the Power button again to turn the device OFF.
5.2 Sensor Rotation
The photo detector can be rotated up to 270° to measure light from various directions. Remove the sensor protection cover before use.

5.3 Measurement Units (Lux/FC)
- Press the Lux/FC button to switch between Lux and Foot-Candle measurement units.
5.4 Data Hold
- Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display.
- Press it again to release the data hold function.
5.5 MAX/MIN Recording
- Press the MAX/MIN button to cycle through Maximum, Minimum, and current readings.
5.6 Relative Measurement
- Press the REL button to enter relative measurement mode. The display will show the difference between the current reading and a previously stored reference value.
5.7 Backlight
- Press the LIGHT button to turn the LCD backlight ON or OFF.
