Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the screen and device body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Water Resistance: While the device is IP65/IP67 rated, avoid submerging it in water or exposing it to high-pressure water jets. Ensure all ports are securely covered when not in use.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially outdoors, remove the screen unit to protect it from theft and extreme weather conditions. Store it in a cool, dry place.
  • Software Updates: Periodically check for software updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Refer to the manufacturer's website or contact support for update procedures.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Device not powering on: Check the power connections to the motorcycle battery and ACC lines. Ensure the wiring is secure and correctly installed according to the diagram in the Setup section.
  • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting: Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone. Verify that the device is discoverable and correctly paired in your phone's Bluetooth settings. Try restarting both the EKIY M8 and your phone.
  • Tire pressure readings not appearing in CarPlay/Android Auto: The tire pressure monitoring system operates independently but displays data on the EKIY M8 screen. Ensure the TPMS sensors are correctly installed and paired with the EKIY M8 unit. Check the TPMS settings within the EKIY M8 interface.
  • Screen display issues (e.g., dim, unclear): Adjust the screen brightness in the device settings. Ensure the screen is clean and free from smudges or debris.
  • Cameras not recording (optional): Ensure a compatible Micro TF card (up to 64GB, C10 class or above) is inserted correctly. Check camera connections and recording settings within the DVR interface.

User Tips

  • For optimal performance of Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, ensure your phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are always active when connecting.
  • When connecting the power, ensure the B+ lines are correctly spliced with the motorcycle's ACC lines to prevent battery drain when the motorcycle is off.
  • Regularly check the tire pressure and temperature readings (if TPMS is installed) to ensure safe riding conditions.
