5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 2 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.

5.2 Antenna Extension

For optimal reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna when listening to FM or SW bands. For AM, the internal antenna is usually sufficient, but adjusting the radio's orientation may improve reception.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Slide the Power Switch to the 'ON' position to turn on the radio. Slide it to 'OFF' to turn it off.

6.2 Band Selection

Use the band selector switch (AM/FM/SW) to choose your desired frequency band.

6.3 Tuning to a Station

Rotate the appropriate tuning knob (AM Adjusting Knob or FM Knob) to scan for stations. The frequency will be displayed in the Radio Indicator Window. Stop when you find a clear signal.

6.4 Volume Control

Rotate the Volume Control knob to adjust the listening level to your preference.

6.5 Using Headphones

Plug any standard 3.5mm headphones into the Headphone Jack for private listening. The built-in speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the surface or internal components.

7.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7.3 Antenna Care

Handle the telescopic antenna gently to avoid bending or breaking. Do not force it when extending or retracting.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the right polarity. Ensure the batteries are not depleted and replace them if necessary.
  • Poor Reception/Static: Fully extend the telescopic antenna. Try rotating the radio or moving to a different location to improve signal strength. For AM, try rotating the radio for better signal.
  • No Sound from Speaker: Ensure headphones are not plugged in. Check the volume level.
  • No Sound from Headphones: Ensure headphones are fully plugged in. Check the volume level. Test with another pair of headphones if possible.
