8. Maintenance

The TOMZN Multi-Function Protector is designed for long-term, reliable operation with minimal maintenance.

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check the device and its wiring for any signs of damage, loose connections, or overheating.
  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates (WIFI model): For the TOMPD-63SW, ensure your SmartLife/Tuya app is up-to-date to receive any potential firmware updates for improved performance and security.

9. Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Device Not Powering On:
    • Check main power supply.
    • Verify all wiring connections are correct and secure (N IN L, N OUT L).
  • Circuit Trips Frequently:
    • Overcurrent Protection: If electrical appliances use too much electricity, the device will cut off power in approximately 0.1 seconds. It is self-recovering. Check for overloaded circuits or faulty appliances.
    • Leakage Protection: If a leakage fault occurs, power will be cut off. The device will restart once the fault disappears. Identify and fix the source of the leakage.
    • Over/Under Voltage Protection: If voltage is too high or too low, the device will cut off power and wait for voltage to return to stability before reconnecting. Check your power supply for voltage fluctuations.
    • Review and adjust protection threshold settings (refer to Section 6 or App Control).
  • WIFI Model (TOMPD-63SW) Not Connecting to App:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4Ghz (5Ghz is not supported).
    • Check Wi-Fi signal strength at the device location.
    • Restart your Wi-Fi router and the device.
    • Ensure the device is in pairing mode (WIFI indicator blinking rapidly).
    • Verify correct Wi-Fi password entry in the app.

10. User Tips

  • Voltage Compatibility: The device is versatile and can operate with both 110V and 220V L-N systems, making it suitable for various regional electrical standards.
  • Leakage Protection on Non-WIFI Models: Even the TOMPD-63S (non-WIFI) model includes leakage protection, and its settings can be adjusted manually directly on the device, providing essential safety features without requiring app connectivity.
  • App for Detailed Monitoring: For the TOMPD-63SW, utilize the SmartLife/Tuya app to its full potential for detailed electricity statistics and historical data, which can help in identifying energy consumption patterns or potential issues.
  • Customizing Protection: Take advantage of the adjustable protection values for over/under voltage, overcurrent, and leakage to tailor the device's response to your specific circuit requirements and connected appliances.
