4. Installation Instructions

The unit is designed for in-dash installation, specifically for Volkswagen vehicles. Ensure the installation size of 222x132MM (Volkswagen dedicated machine size) and shell size of 220x130MM fit your vehicle's dashboard.

4.1. VW Wiring Instructions

There are two power cords (A and B) included. Choose the one that matches the shape of your original car's power plug. Regardless of which cord you use, follow one of the two wiring methods below:

  1. Method 1: With CAN Bus (for vehicles with steering wheel buttons, door information, or air conditioning information)

If your original car has steering wheel buttons, door information, or air conditioning information, it indicates the presence of a CAN line, and the unit needs to be connected to the CANBUS. In this case:

    • Plug in the CANBUS module.
    • Connect the other end of the CANBUS line into the 8P socket on the back of the machine.
    • Important: The two black buckles on the wiring harness must be disconnected at this time. Failure to do so will prevent the machine from shutting down and will drain the battery.
  2. Method 2: Without CAN Bus (for vehicles without steering wheel buttons, door information, or air conditioning information)

If your original car does not have steering wheel buttons, door information, or air conditioning information, it means it does not have a CAN line and does not require a CANBUS connection. In this case:

    • The two black buckles on the wiring harness need to be connected together.
    • Important: It is forbidden to connect the CANBUS module or plug the 8P connector into the back of the machine. Failure to do so will prevent the machine from shutting down and will drain the battery.

Troubleshooting Tip: Some models may have original cars without steering wheel buttons but with CAN lines. If the machine does not turn on or off after wiring, try connecting or disconnecting the CANBUS module to resolve the issue.

7.1. Car Radio Does Not Turn On

  • Check Voltage: Ensure the car radio is receiving DC 12V.
  • Wiring Check: Verify that the red and yellow wires are connected to the positive side of the power supply, and the black wire to the negative.
  • Fuse: Check and replace the fuse if necessary.
  • Power Cables: Always use the provided power cables. Do not directly insert the original car plug into the unit.

7.2. No Sound from Car Radio

  • Audio Cable: If not using the original audio cable, ensure your cable is compatible.
  • Wire Collisions: Check for any short circuits or collisions between speaker wires or between power and speaker wires.
  • Speaker Test: Connect a single speaker to a group of audio cables to test for sound. Test each of the four speaker cables separately.

7.3. Cannot Search FM Radio Stations

  • Radio Antenna: Ensure the radio antenna is properly inserted and making good contact. Try re-inserting it several times.
  • Signal Strength: Move to an area with better radio signal reception and try again.
  • Antenna Condition: If the car's radio antenna is damaged or ineffective, replace it and retest.

7.4. Cannot Connect Bluetooth

  • Phone Settings: On your phone, open Bluetooth settings, search for devices, and select the unit's Bluetooth model (default name: "Carkit").
  • Pairing Code: If prompted for a pairing code, try "0000", "1234", or "123456".
  • Alternative Phone: Try pairing with another mobile phone to rule out phone-specific issues.
  • Unit Reset: If problems persist, unplug the power connector from the back of the player, wait 3 minutes, and then plug it back in.

This is a built-in clock function and cannot be removed. It is designed for convenience. If you do not wish to see the time, you would need to physically unplug the power supply.
