6. Maintenance

The Smart IR Remote Control S06 requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Ensure it is placed in a location with good line-of-sight to the appliances it controls, as infrared signals cannot penetrate walls or solid objects.

7. Troubleshooting & Important Notes

7.1. Compatibility Notes

  • The Smart IR Remote Control only supports infrared (IR) remote controls.
  • It does NOT support Bluetooth, RF (Radio Frequency), or 2.4G remote controls.
  • To identify an IR remote, look for an infrared emitting tube or a black transparent window on the remote.
  • Long-press functions on original remotes are generally not supported, but other functions are.

7.2. Common Issues and Solutions

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the Micro USB cable is securely connected to a 5V/1A power source.
  • Configuration process fails:
    • Verify the Smart IR Remote is powered on.
    • Confirm your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
    • Check your network connectivity and ensure your Wi-Fi router is functioning correctly.
    • Double-check that the Wi-Fi password entered is correct.
  • Cannot control devices:
    • Ensure the Smart IR Remote has a clear line of sight to the appliance. Infrared signals cannot penetrate walls or obstacles.
    • Check the IR remote's network status: In the app, click any key on the remote control panel and observe if the indicator light on the physical device flashes. If it flashes, it's working properly.
    • Confirm the electric device's original remote control is IR-enabled (test by covering the IR emitter on the original remote and pressing a button; if the device doesn't respond, it's IR-based).
  • IR Remote cannot go through walls: Infrared signals require a direct line of sight. You will need one Smart IR Remote Control per room to control appliances in different rooms.

7.3. Important Operational Tips

  • The device requires constant USB power supply; it does not have a built-in battery.
  • A stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection is always required for remote control functionality.
  • Bluetooth is primarily used during the initial configuration process.
  • The Smart IR Remote cannot reverse synchronize signals from original appliance remotes.
  • Yandex Alice currently supports only AC, TV, TV Box, and Fan control.

8. User Tips

  • Strategic Placement: Position the Smart IR Remote in a central location within the room, ensuring it has a clear line of sight to all appliances you intend to control. Avoid placing it behind furniture or other obstructions.
  • App Customization: Take advantage of the app's "Scenario" and "Automation" features to streamline your smart home experience. Create routines for daily activities, like "Good Morning" to turn on the TV and AC, or "Good Night" to turn them off.
  • DIY Learning for Older Devices: Don't discard older appliance remotes. Use the DIY learning function to add support for devices not found in the app's database, extending the utility of your universal remote.
  • Power Stability: Since the device requires constant power, ensure it's connected to a reliable power source to avoid interruptions in control.
