2. Safety Information
Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the device:
- Do not point the laser directly at eyes or indirectly off reflective surfaces.
- This device is not intended for measuring human or animal body temperature.
- Do not use the thermometer in environments with explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
- Keep the device away from electromagnetic fields, such as those produced by arc welders or induction heaters.
- Do not immerse the unit in water.
- Remove batteries if the device is not used for an extended period.
3. Product Components
Familiarize yourself with the parts of your infrared thermometer:

- Temperature Sensing Area (Infrared Sensor)
- Infrared Laser Point
- Laser Point Switch Button
- Measurement Trigger
- Display Screen
- Backlight Button
- Celsius/Fahrenheit Switch Button
- Battery Lock Latch
4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
Your thermometer requires two AAA batteries (not included by default). To install:
- Locate the battery lock latch at the bottom of the handle.
- Push the latch to open the battery compartment.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment securely until the latch clicks into place.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Taking a Measurement
- Point the thermometer at the target surface.
- Press and hold the measurement trigger. The laser pointer (if activated) will indicate the center of the measurement area.
- The temperature reading will appear on the display screen within 0.5 seconds.
- Release the trigger to hold the reading on the display. The device will automatically shut down after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

5.2 Unit Switching (Celsius/Fahrenheit)
Press the '°C/°F' button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.

5.3 Backlight Control
Press the backlight button (light bulb icon) to turn the display backlight on or off. This feature is useful in low-light conditions.

5.4 Laser Pointer
Press the laser point switch button to activate or deactivate the laser pointer. The laser helps in precise targeting of the measurement area.
5.5 Distance-to-Spot Ratio (D:S)
The thermometer has a Distance-to-Spot ratio of 12:1. This means that at a distance of 12 units, the measurement spot diameter will be 1 unit. For accurate readings, ensure the target object fills the measurement spot. It is recommended not to exceed 1 meter for testing to maintain accuracy.

5.6 Emissivity Adjustment (T400A, T600A models only)
Emissivity is a measure of an object's ability to emit infrared energy. Different materials have different emissivity values. For models with adjustable emissivity (T400A, T600A), you can set the emissivity to match the material being measured for improved accuracy. Refer to the Emissivity Reference Table below.
To adjust emissivity, consult your device's specific button layout (usually a dedicated button or menu option) and use the up/down arrows to set the value.

For T400 and T600 models, emissivity is preset to 0.95, which is suitable for most organic materials and painted surfaces.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Lens: Use a soft, clean cloth or cotton swab with water or medical alcohol. Wipe gently.
- Housing: Clean the device housing with a damp sponge or soft cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Do not immerse the device in water.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the low voltage indicator appears on the display, replace the AAA batteries as described in the Setup section (4.1 Battery Installation).
6.3 Storage
Store the thermometer in a dry environment with a storage humidity of 10-90% RH non-condensing. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
7. Troubleshooting
- No display/Device not turning on: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings:
- Ensure the target object fills the measurement spot (refer to D:S ratio).
- For T400A/T600A models, verify that the emissivity setting matches the material being measured.
- Ensure the lens is clean and free from obstructions.
- Avoid measuring through glass or other transparent surfaces, as infrared thermometers measure the surface temperature of the glass itself.
- Low voltage indication: Replace batteries immediately.
- Automatic shutdown: This is a normal power-saving feature. The device will turn off after a period of inactivity.

9. User Tips
- For best accuracy, allow the thermometer to stabilize in the environment where measurements will be taken for about 20-30 minutes before use.
- When measuring liquids, stir the liquid before taking a reading to ensure a more uniform temperature.
- Be aware of steam or smoke, as these can interfere with infrared readings.
- Always ensure the target area is larger than the measurement spot size, especially at greater distances.
- Keep the lens clean to avoid inaccurate readings.
