3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Mounting the Unit

  1. Choose a Location: Select a suitable flat surface on your dashboard that does not obstruct your view or interfere with driving controls.
  2. Attach the Bracket: The unit comes with a customized bracket designed for stable and secure mounting. Use the provided adhesive bracket to firmly attach the unit to the dashboard. The design ensures stability even on bumpy roads or during emergency braking.
  3. Adjust the Angle: The front camera can be rotated 350° to capture various angles, including the front, side, or interior of the car. Adjust it to your desired recording view.

3.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided car charger to the unit's power input port (Type-C, as shown in Figure 4).
  2. Plug the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.

3.3 Optional Component Installation

  • Rear Camera: If you have the optional rear camera, connect it to the designated 'Rear Camera' port on the main unit using the 6m cable. Ensure the camera is mounted securely at the rear of your vehicle. The rear camera is waterproof.
  • GPS Module: If you have the optional external GPS module, connect it to the 'GPS' port.
  • ACC Hardwire Kit (for 24h Parking Monitor): For continuous 24-hour parking monitoring, an ACC hardwire kit must be purchased and installed separately. This kit provides constant power to the dash cam even when the vehicle is off.

3.4 Inserting the TF Card

  1. Locate the TF Card Slot on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 4).
  2. Insert a Class 10 or higher TF card (up to 256GB) into the slot until it clicks.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Initial Power On and Fast Startup

Once connected to power, the unit will perform a fast startup, typically within 4 seconds, displaying a 'Welcome' screen before loading the main interface.

4.2 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Connection

The unit supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Bluetooth and WiFi connection. After the first successful connection, the smart screen will automatically connect when the car starts.

  1. Enable Bluetooth: On your smartphone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn it on.
  2. Pair Device: On the dash cam, navigate to the CarPlay or Android Auto interface. The screen will display instructions to connect. Search for the device name (e.g., TF790BT_24461ace) on your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair.
  3. Confirm Connection: Accept any pairing requests on both devices. Once connected, your phone's interface will be mirrored on the dash cam, allowing access to navigation, music, calls, and voice assistants.

4.3 AirPlay / Mirror Link (Wireless Mirroring)

This feature allows direct screen mirroring from your smartphone without needing to download additional apps.

  1. For iOS (AirPlay): Go to Settings > WLAN on your iPhone and connect to the device's WiFi (e.g., TF790BT-24461ace). Then, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and select 'Smartscreen'.
  2. For Android (Mirror Link): Open your phone's settings, navigate to connected devices, and select 'Cast' or 'Smart View'. Choose 'Smartscreen' to connect. (Note: Some Android phones may not support this feature).

4.4 Recording Functions

  • Dual Channel Recording: The unit supports simultaneous recording from the 4K front camera and the 1080P rear camera.
  • Loop Recording: New footage will automatically overwrite older footage when the memory card reaches full capacity, ensuring continuous recording and efficient storage space recycling.

4.7 Audio Output
