5. Safety Warnings

Failure to follow these warnings may result in damage to the meter or personal injury.

  • Incorrect Connection: The meter will be destroyed if you make an incorrect connection method with the voltage input (green terminal) and the secondary current transformer (blue terminal). Ensure all connections are correct before applying power.
  • Power Source Compatibility: This meter is designed to measure 50Hz AC city electricity ONLY. It will be destroyed if used to measure square wave, output of an inverter, or correction sine wave power sources.

6. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of the AC Power Meter D69-2049:

  1. Mounting: Install the meter into a panel cutout with dimensions of 76mm x 39mm.
  2. Voltage Input: Connect the AC power source to the green terminal block labeled 'VOLTAGE INPUT' on the meter. Ensure the voltage is within the specified AC 80.0-300.0V range.
  3. Current Transformer Connection:
    • Connect the blue terminal block labeled 'CT SECONDARY' to the secondary wires of the included current transformer.
    • Pass the wire of the load you wish to measure through the middle of the current transformer.
    • Important: Do not connect the CT secondary directly to the voltage input. Ensure the wire passes through the CT correctly.

Refer to the safety warnings section before making any connections.

7. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and powered on, the meter will automatically display the measured values for AC voltage, AC current, active power, and accumulated electric energy (kWh) on its color LCD screen.

Auto-Saving Function:

The meter features an auto-saving function for electric energy. When power is off, the accumulated electric energy (kWh) value will be saved. The saved energy will continue to accumulate from the last recorded value when the meter is powered on again.

8. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your DROK AC Power Meter D69-2049, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display and casing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the surface.
  • Environment: Keep the meter in a dry environment, away from excessive dust, moisture, and direct sunlight.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your meter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Meter does not power on or display anything. No power to the voltage input terminals, or incorrect wiring. Check the power supply to the green voltage input terminals. Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct as per the setup instructions.
Incorrect or erratic readings. Incorrect CT connection, incompatible power source, or faulty wiring. Ensure the load wire passes correctly through the CT and the CT secondary is connected to the blue terminals. Confirm the power source is 50Hz AC city electricity (not square wave or inverter output). Recheck all wiring for loose connections.
Meter damaged after connection. Wrong connection method (e.g., CT secondary connected to voltage input) or incompatible power source. Review the safety warnings and setup instructions carefully. Ensure the CT secondary is never connected directly to the voltage input. Only use with 50Hz AC city electricity.
