5. Installation

Before installation, it is crucial to verify the compatibility of the lock with your door. The RAYKUBE K8 is designed with longer and larger handle panels to cover existing door holes from previous locks, ensuring a clean and professional finish.

5.1 Mortise Lock Selection

The K8 lock supports over 24 different mortise lock sizes. Please measure your existing mortise lock carefully to select the correct size. Refer to the diagrams below for guidance on how to measure your mortise lock and ensure compatibility.

5.2 Door Compatibility

The K8 lock is suitable for door thicknesses between 28mm and 75mm. Its larger panels are designed to cover any existing holes from previous installations, as shown in the comparison below.

The handle direction is reversible, allowing for universal installation on both left and right-opening doors.

6. Setup

6.1 Battery Installation

The K8 lock requires 4 AA dry batteries (not included). Locate the battery cover on the rear panel, open it, insert the batteries according to the polarity markings, and then close the cover securely.

6.2 TT Lock App Setup

  1. Download the App: Search for "TT Lock" in your mobile device's App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and install it.
  2. Pairing via Bluetooth: Open the TT Lock app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your smartphone with the K8 smart lock via Bluetooth.
  3. Adding Users:
    • Fingerprints: In the app, navigate to the fingerprint management section and follow the prompts to register new fingerprints.
    • IC Cards: Use the app to add new IC cards by presenting them to the lock's IC card area.
    • Passcodes: Generate various types of passcodes:
      • Permanent Passcode: For the owner.
      • Timed Passcode: For shorter-term users.
      • One-time Passcode: For maintainers, delivery personnel, etc.
      • Custom Passcode: For family or friends.
      • Recurring Passcode: For babysitters, hourly workers, etc.

6.3 Remote WiFi Unlock (Optional)

To enable remote WiFi unlock and smart home integration, you will need to purchase a G2 Gateway separately. Once connected, the gateway allows you to manage your lock from anywhere via the TT Lock app and integrate with smart voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant (regional availability applies).

7. Operating Instructions

The RAYKUBE K8 smart lock offers several convenient ways to unlock your door:

7.1 APP Unlock

Open the TT Lock app on your smartphone, tap the unlock icon, and the lock will disengage. (Refer to Video 7.1, 0:07-0:11)

7.2 Fingerprint Unlock

Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor located on the handle. The lock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized. (Refer to Video 7.1, 0:12-0:15)

7.3 Password Unlock

Enter your registered password on the keypad. The lock will unlock upon correct entry. (Refer to Video 7.1, 0:16-0:20)

Virtual Password Anti-peeping: To enhance security, you can enter any random numbers before and after your actual password. For example, if your password is '123456', you can enter 'XXXX123456YYYY' (where X and Y are random digits). The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer input.

7.4 IC Card Unlock

Present your registered IC card to the IC card area on the lock. The lock will unlock if the card is recognized. (Refer to Video 7.1, 0:21-0:25)

7.5 Mechanical Key Unlock

In case of emergency or battery failure, insert the mechanical key into the keyhole and turn to unlock the door. (Refer to Video 7.1, 0:28-0:38)

7.6 Indoor Lock/Unlock Button

From the inside, use the physical lock/unlock button or handle to secure or open the door. (Refer to Video 7.1, 0:40-0:58)

7.7 Doorbell Function

The K8 lock features a built-in doorbell. Visitors can press the doorbell button on the lock to alert occupants inside.

7.8 Access Alert & Attendance Record

The TT Lock app allows you to view a detailed record of all lock activities, including who unlocked the door, when, and by what method. This feature can also be used for employee attendance tracking in commercial settings.

8. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace the 4 AA dry batteries when the low battery warning is issued by the lock. Always use new, high-quality batteries.
  • Cleaning: Clean the lock's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Fingerprint Sensor Care: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance.
  • Mechanical Key Access: Periodically check that the mechanical keyhole is clear and accessible.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Lock not responding: Check battery levels. If batteries are low, use the USB emergency power port or mechanical key to unlock.
  • Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Re-register your fingerprint if issues persist.
  • Password not working: Double-check the entered password. Ensure the lock is not in a temporary disabled state.
  • App connectivity issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the lock is within range. If using a G2 Gateway, verify its internet connection.
  • Doorbell not sounding: Check the lock's settings in the TT Lock app to ensure the doorbell function is enabled and volume is adequate.

10. User Tips

  • Mortise Lock Selection: Always double-check the dimensions of your existing mortise lock against the provided guide to ensure you select the correct replacement for a smooth installation.
  • Remote Access: For enhanced convenience and remote management, consider purchasing the optional G2 Gateway to enable WiFi connectivity for your smart lock.
  • Backup Keys: Keep your mechanical backup keys in a secure, easily accessible location outside your property, such as with a trusted neighbor or in a secure lockbox.
  • Virtual Passwords: Utilize the virtual password feature to protect your actual passcode from being observed by others.
