4.1 Battery Installation
The device requires two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries (not included). To install or replace batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the inclinometer.
- Use the provided screwdriver to loosen the screw on the battery cover.
- Remove the cover.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw.
Note: The parcel will be sent without batteries. If ordering from a specific regional warehouse (e.g., RU warehouse), batteries may be included.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Button Functions

- ON/OFF Button: Short press to turn the device on or off.
- HOLD/Tilt% Button:
- Short press to hold the current readout data on the display.
- Long press for 2 seconds to switch between angle (degrees) and slope (percentage) display modes.
- ZERO Button: Press to set the current surface as the relative zero point for relative measurements.
- Backlight Button: (Often integrated with another button or automatic) Activates the green backlight for visibility in low-light conditions.

5.2 Measurement Modes
The inclinometer supports two main measurement modes: Absolute and Relative.
Absolute Measuring Mode
In this mode, the device measures the angle relative to a true horizontal (absolute level). The absolute zero position is factory-calibrated. When you turn on the instrument, it will display the angle compared to this absolute level.
Relative Measuring Mode
This mode allows you to set any surface as your reference (zero) point and measure angles relative to that specific surface.
- Turn on the instrument and place it on the desired reference surface. The display will show the angle relative to the absolute level.
- Short press the "ZERO" button. The display will reset to "0.00°". This surface is now your relative zero.
- Move the instrument to the surface you wish to measure, or change the angle on the reference surface. The readout will display the angle value relative to your newly set zero reference.
5.3 Display Features
- Auto-Reversed Display: When the product is inverted, the numbers on the display automatically reverse for easy reading from any orientation.
- Tilt Symbols:
- "▲" on the left side and "▼" on the right side indicates the left side is higher and the right side is lower.
- "▼" on the left side and "▲" on the right side indicates the left side is lower and the right side is higher.

6. Recalibration
The inclinometer is fully calibrated prior to shipment from the factory. Please recalibrate the inclinometer only if you suspect it is inaccurate. Ensure the instrument is kept still when pressing the "ZERO" button during calibration.
- Place the bottom surface of the instrument onto a level surface that has been calibrated (or is known to be level).
- While the device is OFF, hold the instrument, then press and hold the "ZERO" button. While still holding "ZERO", press the "ON/OFF" button. The LCD will display "CAL1", indicating it has entered calibration status.
- Keep the instrument still and press the "ZERO" button again. The LCD will display "CAL2".
- Rotate the instrument 90 degrees clockwise, hold it still, and press the "ZERO" button again. The LCD will display "CAL3".
- Rotate the instrument another 90 degrees clockwise, hold it still, and press the "ZERO" button again. The LCD will display "CAL4".
- Rotate the instrument another 90 degrees clockwise, hold it still, and press the "ZERO" button again. The LCD will display "CAL5".
- Rotate the instrument a final 90 degrees clockwise (returning to the original orientation), hold it still, and press the "ZERO" button again. The LCD will display "PASS", then "0.00". The calibration is now complete.

7. Application
The SHAHE Digital Angle Finder Gauge is widely applicable in various industries:
- Wood Processing Industry: Especially useful in furniture manufacturing for accurate cutting of wood angles.
- Auto Repair Industry: For precise control of tire angles and other automotive measurements.
- Machining Industry: For accurate positioning of tool working angles.
- Construction: Measuring rotation angles of large vehicle arms and other structural components.
8. User Tips
- Always ensure the measurement surface is clean and free of debris for accurate readings.
- When using the magnetic base, ensure it is firmly attached to the metal surface to prevent movement during measurement.
- For best results, allow the device to stabilize for a few seconds after placing it on a surface before taking a reading.
- Utilize the data hold function (short press HOLD/Tilt% button) when measuring in awkward positions where the display might be difficult to read directly.
- Remember to switch between degrees and percentage (long press HOLD/Tilt% button) as needed for your specific application.
9. Troubleshooting
If the device displays "Err" (Error), it typically indicates an improper measurement direction or an unstable surface. Ensure the inclinometer is placed correctly and steadily on the surface being measured. If readings appear inaccurate, perform a recalibration as described in Section 6.
If the display is dim or unresponsive, check the batteries and replace them if necessary.
10. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid exposing the inclinometer to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Store the device in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage.
