6. Installation

Important: Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure the main power supply is OFF before proceeding.

6.1 Mounting

  • The Smart Reclosing Protector is designed to be installed on a 35mm standard DIN rail.
  • Use the positioning clip for easy and secure installation.

6.2 Wiring Diagram

Connect the device according to the following diagram. This product does not have isolating function and short circuit protection. It is recommended that an external circuit breaker be configured at the upper part for use.

  • Connect the 'IN' terminals (L and N) to the incoming power supply.
  • Connect the 'OUT' terminals (L and N) to the load.
  • Ensure proper phase and neutral connections.

7. Wi-Fi Version Setup and Pairing (for Wi-Fi Version only)

To utilize the smart features of your protector, follow these steps to connect it to the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app:

  1. Download the App: Download, register, and log in to the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app on your smartphone.
  2. Prepare for Pairing: Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and Bluetooth is turned ON.
  3. Device Pairing Mode: Ensure the device's Wi-Fi signal indicator is blinking. If it's not blinking, long press the power button on the device for 5 seconds to reset it and enter pairing mode.
  4. Add Device: In the app, click 'Add Device'. The device should be automatically searched. Click 'Add'.
  5. Enter Wi-Fi Information: Enter your Wi-Fi account and password, then click 'Next'.
  6. Complete Pairing: Wait patiently for the device to connect to the network. Once added successfully, click 'Done'.

You can now control and monitor the device using your smartphone.

8. Operation

8.1 Manual Control

  • Power Button: Short press to turn the device ON/OFF. Long press for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi version for pairing.
  • SET Button: Press to view parameters such as overvoltage (V), undervoltage (V), overcurrent (A), overload delay (S), overload current multiple (M), leak current (mA), recovery delay (S), and high temperature (°C).
  • Increase/Decrease Buttons: Use these buttons to adjust parameter values when in setting mode.

8.2 App Control (Wi-Fi Version Only)

  • Remote ON/OFF: Control the power supply from anywhere using the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app.
  • Real-time Data: View load current, voltage, power, total electricity consumption, residual current, and circuit temperature in real-time on the app. The app also records electricity consumption over different time periods (year, month, day, hour).
  • Voice Control: Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free operation.
  • Scheduling: Set up timing modes, countdowns, and loop timings for automated control.

9. Setting Protection Parameters

The device allows for both manual and app-based setting of alarm and protection thresholds. Once a threshold is set, the alarm function is automatically activated, and the circuit breaker will trip to protect the circuit if the threshold is reached.

9.1 Manual Setting (Both Versions)

  1. Long press the 'SET' button for 3 seconds to enter the setting mode.
  2. Use the 'SET' button to switch between different parameters (over-voltage (V), under-voltage (V), over-current (A), overload delay (S), overload current multiple (M), leak current (mA), recovery delay (S), high temperature (°C)).
  3. Use the Increase/Decrease buttons to adjust the values for each parameter.
  4. After setting, long press the 'SET' button again for 3 seconds to exit, or wait about 10 seconds for it to automatically exit setting mode.

9.2 App Setting (Wi-Fi Version Only)

For the Wi-Fi version, you can also set these parameters conveniently through the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app:

  • Navigate to the 'Alarm Setting' section within the device interface in the app.
  • Adjust thresholds for leak current (mA), high temperature (°C), high power (KW), over-current (A), over-voltage (V), and under-voltage (V).
  • Enable or disable 'Breaker tripping' for each alarm.

9.3 Leakage Protection Self-Test

The Wi-Fi version supports a leakage protection self-test feature, which can be initiated from the app to verify the functionality of the leakage protection. You can also set up periodic self-tests.

10. Maintenance

  • Regularly check the device for any visible damage or loose connections.
  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • For the Wi-Fi version, ensure the app is updated to the latest version for optimal performance and security.
  • Periodically test the leakage protection function as described in Section 9.3.

11. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Check the main power supply and all wiring connections. Ensure the device is correctly installed.
  • Wi-Fi indicator not blinking (Wi-Fi Version): Long press the power button for 5 seconds to reset the device and enter pairing mode.
  • Unable to connect to app (Wi-Fi Version): Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, Bluetooth is on, and the device is in pairing mode. Verify Wi-Fi password.
  • Device trips frequently: Check the set protection parameters (over-current, over-voltage, etc.) and ensure they are appropriate for your load. Verify the load is not exceeding the device's rated capacity.
  • Leakage alarm: If a leakage alarm occurs, immediately disconnect the load and identify the source of the leakage. Do not re-enable the circuit until the issue is resolved.
  • Incorrect voltage/current readings: Ensure all connections are secure. If the issue persists, contact support.

12. User Tips

  • Installation Expertise: While the device is designed for ease of installation, it is highly recommended to have a qualified electrician handle the wiring to ensure safety and proper functionality, especially for complex electrical systems.
  • Voltage Compatibility: If your electrical system uses 110VAC, remember to adjust the over-voltage (220V-265V) and under-voltage (76-240V) protection settings to match your specific requirements during initial setup to avoid nuisance tripping.
  • Advanced Scheduling: The Wi-Fi version's app allows for flexible scheduling, including daily on/off times, countdowns, and loop timings, making it suitable for automating devices 7 days a week.
