4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Device

  1. Attach the bracket to the back of the GPS navigation host.
  2. Secure the windshield holder to the bracket.
  3. Clean the desired area on your windshield or dashboard.
  4. Press the suction cup firmly against the clean surface and engage the locking mechanism to secure the holder.
  5. Adjust the viewing angle of the GPS device for optimal visibility without obstructing your view of the road.

4.2 Powering On and Charging

  1. Connect the car charger to the mini USB port on the GPS device.
  2. Plug the other end of the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
  3. The device will automatically power on or you may need to press the power button.
  4. Ensure the device is charging, indicated by a charging icon on the screen.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Main Menu Overview

Upon startup, the device will display the main menu, offering access to various functions such as Navigation, Multimedia (Music, Video, Image), E-Book, Games, and Settings.

5.2 Navigation Features

  1. Starting Navigation: Tap the 'Navigation' icon on the main menu. The device will acquire GPS satellite signals.
  2. Destination Entry: Use the on-screen keyboard to enter your destination by POSTCODE or ADDRESS.
  3. Route Planning: The device supports intelligent route planning and offers 2D/3D map views.
  4. Vehicle Modes: Select from 7 vehicle modes: cars, trucks, bicycles, buses, ambulances, taxis, and walking routes.
  5. Professional Truck Mode: For truck drivers, the GPS can automatically account for length, width, height, and weight restrictions.
  6. Points of Interest (POI): Search for nearby petrol stations, parking, restaurants, and accommodation.
  7. Voice Guidance: The built-in Hi-Fi speaker provides intelligent voice reminders for speed limits and turns. Navigation voice and music can be transmitted to your car speakers via FM.

5.3 Multimedia Functions

The device can play MP3 and MP4 media files, view photos (JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG), and read E-books (TXT format). Access these functions from the main menu.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Device

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and exterior of the device.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or solvents, as these may damage the screen or casing.
  • Ensure the device is powered off and disconnected from power sources before cleaning.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Device Does Not Power On

  • Ensure the device is properly connected to the car charger and the vehicle's power outlet is functioning.
  • Check if the car charger's fuse is intact.
  • Charge the device for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again. The internal battery might be completely depleted.

7.2 No GPS Signal

  • Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky. Obstructions like tall buildings, tunnels, or dense foliage can interfere with GPS reception.
  • Move the vehicle to an open area.
  • Allow a few minutes for the device to acquire satellites, especially during the first use or after a long period of inactivity.

7.3 Screen Unresponsive

  • Perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button for 10-15 seconds until the device restarts.
  • Ensure the screen is clean and free of debris.

7.4 Maps Not Updating or Incorrect

  • The device comes with 2021 maps and offers free updates. Refer to the official Veclumin support website or the included German manual for instructions on how to update maps.
  • Ensure sufficient storage space on the device or an inserted micro TF card for new map data.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, keep the device's software and maps updated.
  • Utilize the FM transmission feature to broadcast navigation instructions and music through your car's audio system for a clearer experience.
  • When using the 'Professional Truck mode', always double-check the entered vehicle dimensions and weight to ensure accurate route planning that avoids restrictions.
  • Customize your navigation preferences in the settings menu, such as voice language, map view, and alert types.
