5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Radio

The radio supports two power supply modes:

  • AC Power: Connect the provided AC power cable to the radio's AC input and a standard wall outlet (220V-240V, 50Hz or 110V, 60Hz).
  • DC Battery Power: For portable use, insert four (4) 1.5V AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located at the back of the unit. Ensure correct polarity.

5.2 Initial Setup

  1. Power On: Press the 'POWER' button to turn on the radio.
  2. Language Selection: Upon first use, you may be prompted to select a language. Use the navigation buttons (up/down) and 'ENTER' to choose your preferred language (English, Deutsch, Italiano, Francais, Nederlands, Espanol, Polski, Cestina are supported).
  3. Time Zone Setting: For Internet Radio functionality, set your local time zone. Navigate through the menu to find the time zone settings and adjust as necessary.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Radio Modes

The radio supports FM, DAB+, and Internet Radio modes. Use the 'MENU' button to switch between modes.

  • FM Radio:
    • Tune to your desired FM station within the 87.5-108MHz range using the 'TUN' knob or navigation buttons.
    • Press 'PRESET' to save or recall favorite stations. The radio can store up to 30 FM stations.
  • DAB+ Radio:
    • Access DAB+ stations within the 174.928MHz-239.200MHz range.
    • Note: DAB function is optimized for EU countries. Performance may vary elsewhere.
    • Press 'PRESET' to save or recall favorite stations. The radio can store up to 30 DAB stations.
  • Internet Radio:
    • Connect the radio to a Wi-Fi network to access thousands of internet radio stations worldwide.
    • Use the menu to select region, country, and city to find your favorite stations.
    • Press 'PRESET' to save or recall favorite stations. The radio can store up to 30 Internet Radio stations.

6.2 Bluetooth Connection

Connect your smartphone, tablet, or laptop via Bluetooth to stream high-quality audio wirelessly.

  1. Switch the radio to Bluetooth mode.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your external device and search for available devices.
  3. Select 'JINSERTA YF-0576' (or similar name) from the list to pair.
  4. Once connected, you can play audio from your device through the radio's speaker.

6.3 Media Playback (TF Card / USB / 3.5mm Headphone)

The radio supports various local media playback options:

  • TF Card Playback: Insert a TF card (up to 256GB) into the designated slot. The radio supports MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, and FLAC formats.
  • USB Disk Playback: Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port. The radio supports MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, and FLAC formats.
  • 3.5mm Headphone Playback: Connect headphones to the 3.5mm jack for private listening.

6.4 Alarm Clock / Snooze Function

Set an alarm to wake up to your favorite radio station or a buzzer sound.

  1. Press the 'ENTER' button to access the alarm clock settings.
  2. Configure the alarm to 'off', 'daily', 'single', 'weekday', or 'weekend'.
  3. Select your desired alarm sound: DAB, FM, or BUZZ.
  4. The snooze time is fixed at 9 minutes. After the alarm rings, pressing any button (except power off) will activate snooze, and the alarm will ring again after 9 minutes.

6.5 Sleep Timer

Use the sleep timer to automatically turn off the radio after a set period, allowing you to fall asleep peacefully.

  • Navigate to the sleep timer settings in the menu.
  • Select a shutdown time from the available options: 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150, or 180 minutes.
  • The radio will automatically power off after the selected duration.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your radio, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Battery Care: If using batteries, remove them if the radio will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Antenna: Handle the telescopic antenna gently to avoid damage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your radio, try the following solutions:

Problem Possible Solution
No power Check AC power cable connection or ensure batteries are correctly inserted and not depleted.
No sound Adjust volume. Ensure 'MUTE' is not active. Check headphone connection if applicable.
Poor radio reception (FM/DAB) Extend and adjust the telescopic antenna. Try moving the radio to a different location.
Internet Radio not connecting Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled and correctly configured. Check Wi-Fi signal strength. Restart your router if necessary.
Bluetooth pairing issues Ensure the radio is in Bluetooth mode. Make sure your device's Bluetooth is on and discoverable. Move devices closer.
TF/USB playback not working Ensure the media is inserted correctly. Check if the audio files are in a supported format (MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC). Check TF card capacity (max 256GB).
