Troubleshooting

  • Scanner Not Powering On:
    • Ensure the OBDII connector is securely plugged into the vehicle's port.
    • Verify the vehicle's ignition is in the "ON" position or the engine is running.
    • Check the vehicle's fuse for the OBDII port (consult your vehicle's manual).
  • "Check Engine Light" Remains On After Clearing Codes:
    • The underlying issue causing the fault code has not been resolved. The code will reappear if the fault persists.
    • Some codes require multiple drive cycles to clear completely.
  • No Communication with Vehicle:
    • Confirm the vehicle supports OBDII/EOBD protocols (most vehicles from 1996 onwards in the US, 2000 in Europe, 2005 in Asia).
    • Check for damaged OBDII cable or connector pins.
    • Ensure the vehicle's battery has sufficient charge.
  • Incorrect Readings or Data:
    • Ensure the correct vehicle information (if prompted) is entered.
    • Verify the scanner's software is up to date.
