1. Product Overview

The MACHINIST H61C Motherboard is designed to support Intel LGA 1155-pin series processors, including 2nd and 3rd generation Intel Core CPUs. It features dual-channel DDR3 RAM support, an M.2 slot for NVME/NGFF SSDs, and essential connectivity for a reliable computing experience.

2. Package Contents

The package typically includes:

Note: Bonus accessories are subject to change. The CMOS battery is not included due to logistics restrictions and must be purchased separately if needed.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Motherboard Layout

Familiarize yourself with the motherboard's various ports and connectors using the schematic below.

3.2 CPU Installation

Follow these steps carefully to install your Intel LGA 1155 processor:

  1. Press down on the lever and lift it.
  2. Open the CPU cover.
  3. Align the triangle symbols on the CPU and socket, then gently place the CPU into the socket.
  4. Remove the CPU plastic cover.
  5. Align the groove with the screw hole and lower the lever to secure the CPU.

Installation Considerations:

  • Do not touch CPU contacts with your hands.
  • Do not touch CPU pins on the motherboard.

3.3 Memory (RAM) Installation

The motherboard supports Dual Channel DDR3 desktop memory. It has two DDR3 slots with a maximum capacity of 32GB (16GB x 2).

  • Supported Frequencies: 1333MHz, 1600MHz, 1866MHz.
  • For optimal compatibility, use reputable brands such as Samsung, Kingston, Sandee, Micron, or Hynix. Other brands may not be compatible.

3.4 M.2 NVME/NGFF SSD Installation

The motherboard features one M.2 slot that supports both NVME and NGFF protocols. The default protocol is NGFF. If you are using an NVME SSD, you may need to switch the protocol using the M.2 Mode switching hub.

3.5 SATA Device Installation

Connect your SATA 2.0 storage devices (HDDs, SSDs) to the three available SATA 2.0 ports on the motherboard.

3.6 PCIe Card Installation

The motherboard includes one PCIe X16 slot for graphics cards and one PCIe X1 slot for other expansion cards.

3.7 Power Supply Connection

Connect the 24-pin main power connector and the 8-pin CPU power connector from your power supply unit (PSU) to the corresponding ports on the motherboard. A minimum of a 500W brand power supply is recommended for stable operation.

3.8 Front Panel Connections

Connect the cables from your PC case's front panel (Power Switch, Reset Switch, Power LED, HDD LED, Front USB 2.0, Front Audio) to the corresponding headers on the motherboard as indicated in the motherboard layout schematic (Figure 3).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 First Boot and BIOS Access

After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Power on your system. To access the BIOS/UEFI setup, typically press the 'DEL' or 'F2' key repeatedly during startup. Consult your CPU and other component manuals for specific boot procedures.

4.2 Supported Processors

This motherboard is compatible with Intel LGA 1155-pin processors, specifically 2nd and 3rd generation Intel Core CPUs.

4.3 Display Output

The motherboard provides both VGA and HDMI display interfaces, supporting resolutions up to 1080P and 2K HD. Connect your monitor to either of these ports.

4.4 Network and Audio

The integrated 100M network adapter port allows for wired internet connectivity. The audio interface includes three jacks for microphone input, line out, and line in.

5. Maintenance

5.1 General Cleaning

Regularly clean your computer's interior to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and component failure. Use compressed air to gently remove dust from the motherboard, CPU cooler, and other components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

5.2 CMOS Battery

The motherboard uses a standard CR2032 coin cell battery for the CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) to store BIOS settings and maintain the system clock. If your system experiences issues with retaining time or BIOS settings, the CMOS battery may need replacement. Note that this battery is typically not included with the motherboard due to shipping regulations.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 CPU Pin Issues

Bent or broken CPU pins can prevent the system from booting or cause instability. Always handle the CPU and socket with extreme care. Refer to the image below for examples of normal and abnormal CPU socket pins.

If you suspect CPU pin damage upon receiving the product, it is recommended to have taken a complete unboxing video (including order number) for documentation purposes before contacting customer service.

6.2 No Power / Boot Issues

  • Power Supply: Ensure your power supply unit (PSU) meets the minimum requirement of 500W and is from a reputable brand. Insufficient power can lead to boot failures.
  • Connections: Double-check all power connections (24-pin, 8-pin CPU), RAM, and expansion cards are securely seated.
  • CMOS Reset: Try resetting the CMOS by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then reinserting it, or by using the CMOS clear jumper if available.

6.3 Memory (RAM) Related Problems

  • Compatibility: Ensure the installed DDR3 RAM modules are compatible with the motherboard and are from recommended brands.
  • Seating: Re-seat the RAM modules firmly into their slots. Try booting with one RAM stick at a time to identify a faulty module.

  • Memory Compatibility: Always opt for reputable brands for DDR3 RAM (e.g., Samsung, Kingston, Micron, Hynix) to ensure the best compatibility and stability.
  • Power Supply: A stable and sufficient power supply is crucial. Ensure your PSU is at least 500W and from a trusted brand for reliable system operation.
  • CPU Pin Inspection: Before installing the CPU, carefully inspect the CPU socket pins for any bending or damage. Damaged pins can lead to system malfunction.
  • M.2 Protocol: The M.2 slot defaults to NGFF protocol. If you are using an NVME SSD, remember to adjust the protocol setting via the M.2 Mode switching hub if necessary for proper detection and performance.
