7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the continued reliable operation of your EKL13 RCBO.
- Monthly Test: Press the "Test Monthly" button (marked 'T') on the front of the RCBO. The device should trip immediately, indicating that the residual current protection mechanism is functioning correctly.
- If the device does not trip, it may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified electrician.
- After testing, reset the RCBO by pushing the handle to the "ON" position.
- Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the RCBO for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.

8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| RCBO trips frequently | Earth leakage fault, short circuit, or overload in the protected circuit. |
|
| RCBO does not trip when test button is pressed | Faulty RCBO. | Immediately replace the RCBO with a new one. Consult a qualified electrician. |
| RCBO cannot be switched ON | Persistent fault in the circuit, or internal damage to the RCBO. |

9. User Tips
Based on common inquiries and user experiences:
- Type A vs. Type C: The EKL13 is specified as both "A Type" and "C Curve". "Type A" refers to the residual current detection capability (detects AC and pulsating DC residual currents), while "C Curve" refers to the tripping characteristic of the overcurrent protection (suitable for general purpose circuits with moderate inrush currents).
- Professional Installation: While the device is user-friendly, electrical work can be dangerous. Always opt for professional installation to ensure safety and compliance.
