2. Safety Information

5. Setup Instructions

5.1 CPU Installation

  1. Locate the LGA1700 CPU socket on the motherboard.
  2. Open the CPU socket lever and lift the load plate.
  3. Carefully align the CPU with the socket, ensuring the triangular mark on the CPU matches the mark on the socket. Do not force the CPU into place.
  4. Lower the load plate and secure it with the lever.
  5. Apply thermal paste to the CPU and install the CPU cooler. Note: Only LGA1700 compatible radiators are supported. LGA15XX radiators are not compatible.

5.2 Memory (RAM) Installation

  1. Locate the dual DDR4 memory slots.
  2. Open the clips at both ends of the memory slot.
  3. Align the notch on the DDR4 memory module with the key in the slot.
  4. Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.
  5. For dual-channel performance, install memory modules in matching slots as indicated in the motherboard manual (refer to the silkscreen on the motherboard).

5.3 M.2 SSD Installation

  1. Locate the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
  2. Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at a 30-degree angle.
  3. Push the SSD down and secure it with the provided M.2 screw. The M.2 interface supports 2280/2240 specifications.

5.4 SATA Device Connection

Connect your SATA hard drives or SSDs to the 3 SATA3_6G rate interfaces using the provided SATA cable.

5.5 Expansion Card Installation

Install your graphics card into the PCIe 4.0 X16 slot. Other expansion cards can be installed in the PCIe 3.0 X1 slot.

5.6 Front Panel and Fan Connections

  • Connect the front panel connectors (power button, reset button, HDD LED, power LED, front USB, front audio) to the corresponding headers on the motherboard. The pin layout is designed to be easier to distinguish for convenient installation.
  • Connect case fans and CPU cooler fans to the 4 x 4Pin fan interfaces on the motherboard.

5.7 Power Connections

  • Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from your power supply to the main power socket on the motherboard.
  • Connect the 8-pin enhanced contact CPU power supply connector to the CPU power socket.

5.8 CMOS Battery Installation

As mentioned in the safety section, you will need to install a CR2032 coin cell battery into the designated battery holder on the motherboard. Ensure the positive (+) side of the battery faces upwards.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Initial Boot and BIOS Setup

  1. After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  2. Power on your system. Press the 'DEL' key (or F2, F10, F12 depending on BIOS version) repeatedly during startup to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility.
  3. Configure essential settings such as boot order, date/time, and enable XMP for memory if desired.
  4. Save changes and exit the BIOS.

6.2 BIOS Updates

The motherboard features debug lights for CPU, DRAM, VGA, and BOOT. These lights illuminate to indicate the component currently being initialized or where a fault has occurred during the boot process. This helps in quickly identifying the source of boot issues.
