4.1 Cooking Rice

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup of raw rice typically yields about 2-3 cups of cooked rice.
  2. Rinse Rice (Optional but Recommended): Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and prevents sticking.
  3. Add Rice to Inner Bucket: Place the rinsed rice into the non-stick inner bucket.
  4. Add Water: For most types of white rice, a common ratio is 1 cup of rice to 1.5-2 cups of water. Adjust the water level according to the type of rice and your preferred consistency. The inner bucket may have water level markings for guidance.
  5. Place Inner Bucket: Ensure the inner bucket is properly seated in the rice cooker.
  6. Close Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
  7. Plug In: Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet.
  8. Start Cooking: Press the 'Cook' switch or button. The 'Cook' indicator light will illuminate.
  9. Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the appliance will automatically switch to the 'Keep Warm' function, and the 'Warm' indicator light will illuminate. For best results, let the rice rest for 10-15 minutes in 'Keep Warm' mode before serving.
  10. Serve: Use the provided serving spoon to fluff and serve the rice.

  3. Insert Steam Tray: Place the steam tray into the inner bucket, above the water.
  4. Close Lid: Securely place the glass lid.
  5. Start Steaming: Plug in the appliance and press the 'Cook' switch. The 'Cook' indicator will light up.
  6. Monitor Cooking: Steaming times vary depending on the food. Monitor the food through the glass lid.
  7. Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the steam tray using oven mitts and serve.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rice cooker.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Clean Inner Bucket: The non-stick inner bucket should be washed with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge or cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick coating. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Clean Steam Tray, Lid, and Accessories: Wash the steam tray, glass lid, measuring cup, and serving spoon with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. The glass lid can be wiped with a damp cloth.
  4. Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the rice cooker body with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  5. Stubborn Stains: For stubborn stains on the inner bucket, soak it in warm water for a few minutes before cleaning.
  6. Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the rice cooker in a cool, dry place.

8. User Tips

  • Rinse Rice: Always rinse your rice thoroughly before cooking to remove excess starch. This helps prevent sticky rice and ensures a better texture.
  • Adjust Water: The perfect rice-to-water ratio can vary based on the type of rice and personal preference. Experiment with slightly less or more water than recommended to find your ideal consistency.
  • Rest After Cooking: Allow the rice to rest in 'Keep Warm' mode for 10-15 minutes after the cooking cycle finishes. This allows the moisture to redistribute, resulting in fluffier rice.
  • Avoid Opening Lid: Try to avoid opening the lid during the cooking process, as this releases steam and can affect the cooking time and rice texture.
  • Use Provided Utensils: Always use the provided plastic serving spoon or other non-metal utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick coating of the inner bucket.
