  2. Connect the trigger wire (labeled 'A' in the wiring diagram) to the positive (+) terminal of your vehicle's reversing light.
  3. Connect the extension cable from the rear camera to your dash cam.

Installation Notes:

  • Before routing the extension cable permanently, test the rear camera with your dashcam to ensure it functions correctly.

  • AHD 1080P 25fps mirror image
  • AHD 1080P 25fps original image

Additionally, the reversing line is disabled by default. To enable the reversing line, cut the white wire on the camera cable. Remember to restart the camera's power after cutting the wire for the change to take effect.

6.2. Automatic Video Signal Format Detection

If you are unsure which video signal format is suitable for your dash cam, you can use the automatic detection feature. Simply press and hold the button on the camera's cable until your head unit displays an image. The rear camera will automatically detect and set a compatible video signal format for your dash cam.

7. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Jansite rear camera, regularly clean the lens. Use a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe away any dirt, dust, water spots, or snow accumulation. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or materials that could scratch the lens.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Camera Not Fitting 5-pin Dash Cam: This camera is not compatible with 5-pin dash cams due to differing connectors and PIN definitions. Ensure your dash cam uses a 4-pin input.
  • Blurry, Flickering, Black, or Striped Image: If the image on your screen is blurry, flickering, black-and-white, or shows horizontal/vertical strips after installation, check all power and video connections to ensure they are solid. You may also try using a different ground point (e.g., an iron/metal part of the car chassis) and wrap power and video plugs with electrical tape to insulate them from interference.
  • Reversing Line Offset: For the most accurate reversing line display, mount the camera in the middle of the license plate. If mounted to the side, the reversing line may appear offset.
  • Reversing Line Not Displayed After Cutting White Wire: If you cut the white wire to enable the reversing line, you must restart the camera's power supply for the change to take effect.

9. User Tips

  • Verify Compatibility: Always double-check that your Jansite rear camera is compatible with your specific Jansite DVR model. If your front camera was purchased in 2019, the rear camera might not match. Contact customer service if you are unsure.
  • Pre-Installation Test: Before routing the extension cable through your vehicle, connect the camera and test it with your dashcam to ensure everything works as expected. This can save significant time and effort.
  • Automatic Format Detection: If you're unsure about the correct video signal format for your DVR, simply press and hold the button on the camera's cable until an image appears on your head unit. The camera is designed to automatically find a compatible format.
