5. Setup (Programming)

Prerequisite: You must have physical access to the motor (receiver) of your garage door or gate opener to perform programming. If you do not have access to the motor, this remote control cannot be programmed.

Follow these steps to program your new remote control:

  1. Access the Motor: Locate the programming or 'Learn' button on your garage door or gate motor (receiver).
  2. Initiate Programming: Press the programming button on your motor. The LED indicator on the motor will illuminate, indicating it is in programming mode.
  3. Program Remote: Within a few seconds, press the desired button on your new remote control.
  4. Confirmation: The opener light on your motor will flash, confirming successful programming. The remote control is now ready for use.

To erase all codes from the receiver: Hold the receiver's 'Learn' button until the indicator light goes off (typically after 30 seconds). All previously learned codes will be erased from the receiver.

6. Operating Instructions

7. Maintenance

Battery Replacement: The remote control uses a CR2032 3V battery. When the remote's range decreases or it stops responding, it's likely time to replace the battery.

  1. Gently pry open the remote control casing.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ side up).
  4. Close the remote control casing securely.

General Care: Keep the remote control dry and clean. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or harsh chemicals. Do not drop or subject the remote to strong impacts.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding: Check the battery. Replace it if necessary (refer to Section 7).
  • Remote has reduced range: This often indicates a low battery. Replace the CR2032 battery.
  • Remote cannot be programmed: Ensure you have physical access to the motor (receiver) and are following the programming steps correctly (refer to Section 5). Verify that your motor is one of the compatible TELECO TXP-433 series models.
  • Remote is not compatible: Confirm your original remote is not a TELECO TVTXP 868MHz (grey shell) model, as this product is not compatible with 868MHz systems.
  • Accidental operation or security concerns: If you suspect unauthorized access or wish to reset your system, erase all codes from your receiver (refer to Section 5).

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure a clear line of sight between the remote control and the receiver when operating.
  • Consider mounting the remote control in its provided base near your garage or gate for easy access and to prevent misplacement.
  • Always keep spare CR2032 batteries on hand for quick replacement.
  • If you have multiple garage doors or gates, consider using a 4-key remote to control all of them from a single device, provided they are compatible TELECO TXP-433 series models.
