6. Maintenance
6.1. Camera Placement Tips
- Do not face the camera towards any strong light source.
- Avoid pointing the camera towards glass windows, as this may result in poor image quality due to glare from the infrared LED window, environment, or status lights.
- Do not place the camera in shaded areas and point it towards areas with sufficient light. Alternatively, this may result in poor image quality.
- To ensure optimal image quality, the lighting conditions of the camera and the subject should be the same.
- Ensure that the power port is not directly exposed to water or moisture, and is not blocked by dirt or other components.
6.2. Environmental Considerations
- The camera is equipped with an IP66 waterproof rating, allowing it to work normally in conditions such as rain and snow. However, this does not mean the camera can work underwater.
- Do not install the camera in areas where rain or snow may directly hit the lens.
- The camera may operate in extreme cold conditions as low as -25°C, as it generates heat when turned on. Before installing outdoors in cold weather, you can power the camera indoors for a few minutes to warm it up.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your security camera system, refer to the following common solutions:
- No Video on Monitor: Ensure all cables (HDMI/VGA, power) are securely connected. Check if the DVR is powered on.
- No Network Connection: Verify the Ethernet cable is properly connected to both the DVR and the router. Check your router's internet connection.
- App Cannot Connect to DVR: Ensure the DVR is connected to the internet. Double-check your app login credentials. Try rescanning the QR code to add the device.
- Poor Image Quality: Check camera placement for glare or insufficient lighting. Ensure the lens is clean and free from obstructions.
- False Motion Alerts: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity and detection zones within the app settings to reduce unwanted alerts.
