4. Initial Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The caliper requires one 3V CR2032 environmental lithium battery (not included). The battery life is typically greater than one year.
- Locate the battery cover (12) on the digital component.
- Use the mini screw provided to carefully open the battery cover.
- Insert a new 3V CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- Press the ON/OFF button (15) to turn the caliper on.
- The caliper will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to save battery.
5.2 Zero-Setting
- Close the measuring jaws completely.
- Press the ZERO/SET button (6) to set the display to zero. This establishes a reference point for relative measurements.
- You can also set zero at any intermediate position for relative measurements.
5.3 Unit Conversion (mm/inch)
- Press the in/mm button (4) to switch between millimeters (mm) and inches (in) display modes.
5.4 ABS Function (Absolute/Relative Measurement)
- Press the ABS button (3) to toggle between absolute (ABS) and incremental (INC) measurement modes.
- In ABS mode, measurements are taken from the true zero point.
- In INC mode, measurements are relative to the last zero-set point.
5.5 Taking Measurements
- Clean the measuring surfaces of the jaws before use.
- Turn on the caliper and set the zero point as described above.
- External Measurement (OD): Place the object between the external measuring jaws (16). Use the fine adjustment device (11) for precise positioning. Lock the measurement with the locking screw (5) or fine locking screw (8) if needed.
- Internal Measurement (ID): Place the internal measuring jaws (17) inside the feature to be measured. Use the fine adjustment device (11) for precise positioning. Lock the measurement if needed.
- Read the measurement directly from the LCD display (2).

6. Maintenance
- Keep the caliper clean and dry. Wipe the measuring surfaces with a clean, soft cloth after each use.
