1. Introduction

The Tuya Smart Air Quality Sensor Guard (Models MT15 and MT29) is a versatile 15-in-1 environmental monitoring device designed to provide real-time insights into your indoor air quality. It detects and displays 11 key environmental parameters, including Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Formaldehyde (HCHO), Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC), Particulate Matter (PM0.3, PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10), Temperature, Humidity, and the Air Quality Index (AQI).

The device features a 2.8-inch TFT display for clear readings and integrates with the Tuya Smart WIFI APP for remote monitoring, historical data viewing, and intelligent scene automation. It also includes practical functions such as an alarm clock, timer, and stopwatch.

The MT15 model utilizes high-quality infrared and laser sensors for precise and accurate data, while the MT29 model uses semiconductor sensors (except for PM detection which uses infrared sensors) offering a cost-effective solution with multi-functional capabilities. Note that while the functionality is the same, the sensor types differ, with MT15 being the high-end version. The actual products have completed screen upgrades, so please refer to the product SKU pictures for the latest display.

This device is suitable for various application scenarios including family homes, offices, schools, cars, gyms, and hotels.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal accuracy, ensure the device has been running for at least 24 hours after initial setup or after a factory reset.
  • Regularly check the device's placement to ensure air inlets and outlets are unobstructed.
  • Utilize the Tuya Smart APP to set personalized alarm thresholds for specific parameters to suit your environment and sensitivity.
  • The device can be wall-mounted for convenient, continuous monitoring in a fixed location.

10. Troubleshooting

  • Abnormal or High Data Readings: If the data appears unusually high or abnormal, turn off the device and then turn it back on. Connect the USB cable, place the device near a window in a well-ventilated environment, and allow it to operate for 24 hours. This process will clear internal data to zero and normalize readings.
  • TVOC Sensor Interference: The TVOC sensor can be temporarily affected by strong odors such as smoke, alcohol, formaldehyde, or perfumes. If this occurs, the readings will return to normal after a period once the interfering substance dissipates.
  • Device Not Pairing with WiFi: Ensure the device's WiFi symbol is flashing quickly (indicating pairing mode). Double-check your WiFi network name and password in the Tuya Smart APP. If issues persist, try resetting the device's WiFi by pressing the Power button 5 times continuously.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the device is not placed in dusty, high-temperature, high-humidity, or strong magnetic field environments. Also, verify that the air inlets and outlets are not blocked.
