4. Package Contents
The contents of your package may vary slightly depending on the plug type (O-plug or U-plug) selected.
For O-Plug Version:
- SUNKKO 73B Integrated Spot Welding Pen
- 1.5mm wrench for dismounting welding needles
- 2mm wrench for copper wire port
- Welding needles (set)
- Key for adjustment of welding pressure
- 3mm screwdriver

For U-Plug Version:
- SUNKKO 73B Integrated Spot Welding Pen
- M3*5 screws
- Welding needles (set)
- Key for adjustment of welding pressure
- 3mm screwdriver

5. Setup
- Connect to Spot Welder: Ensure your spot welder is turned off. Connect the welding pen to your compatible spot welder using the appropriate O-type or U-type plug. The pen features a 2.5 port DC wire (65cm length) that supports automatic welding functions.
- Select Cable Size: Choose between the 16 square or 25 square pure copper braid belt based on your welding needs.
- Adjust Welding Needle Distance: Use the provided 3mm screwdriver to adjust the distance between the welding needles. The distance can be set from 3mm (shortest) to 7mm (longest) for optimal contact with different workpieces.
- Adjust Welding Pressure: Use the provided key to adjust the welding pressure knob on the pen. The pressure can be set from a minimum of 600g (suitable for 0.1mm nickel strip) to a maximum of 1200g (suitable for 0.3mm nickel strip). Adjust according to the thickness of the material you are welding.
- Power On: Once all connections and adjustments are made, turn on your spot welder.

6. Operation
- Prepare Workpiece: Ensure the surfaces to be welded are clean and free of oxidation or contaminants.
- Position Pen: Hold the welding pen firmly and position the welding needles directly over the nickel strip and battery terminal.
- Apply Pressure: Apply slight downward pressure to the pen. The automatic trigger switch will activate the welding process.
- Observe Indicator Lights: The blue and yellow indicator lights will illuminate in real-time during welding, confirming the operation.
- Check Weld Quality: After welding, carefully inspect the weld spot. A strong weld should be firm and not easily fall off. The 73B pen, when used with a 737G+ spot welder, can achieve welds on 0.3mm nickel strips with a pulling weight of 2.66KGS.
- Welding Various Materials: The pen is suitable for welding a range of materials and thicknesses, including 0.15mm aluminum nickel composite strips (for lithium iron phosphate batteries), 0.3mm nickel strips on lithium batteries, and circuit boards.

7. Maintenance
- Clean Welding Needles: Regularly clean the tips of the welding needles to ensure optimal conductivity and prevent contamination.
- Replace Welding Needles: If the welding needles become worn or damaged, they can be easily dismounted and replaced using the provided 1.5mm wrench.
- Inspect Cables: Periodically check the copper braid belts and DC wire for any signs of wear or damage.
- Storage: Store the welding pen in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Weld/Weak Weld:
- Ensure the welding pen is securely connected to the spot welder.
- Check the welding needle distance and adjust if necessary.
- Increase the welding pressure using the adjustment knob.
- Verify that the spot welder's settings (e.g., pulse, current) are appropriate for the material thickness.
- Clean the welding needle tips and workpiece surfaces. - Overheating:
- While the 73B is designed for effective heat dissipation, ensure adequate ventilation around the spot welder and pen during prolonged use. - Indicator Lights Not Working:
- Check the connection to the spot welder. If the issue persists, consult your spot welder's manual or contact support.
